So honestly, NEARLY came from this thought I had we spend so much time online supporting people we don’t even know, but in real life, we barely notice what’s happening around us. Like, someone could be struggling two lanes away, and we’d never know. I wanted to build something that makes people look up from their screens and connect again. That’s how NEARLY started a small idea to turn digital empathy into real-world action.

I built the project using AI tools and a free website generator since I’m still learning to code. I wanted it to look fun, almost like a game, so people actually enjoy helping out. I learned a lot not just about web development, but about how design and purpose need to feel human, not robotic. The biggest challenge was the time limit and my limited coding knowledge, but honestly, figuring things out with AI, debugging, and seeing it finally work (even if imperfectly) felt amazing.

NEARLY taught me that even small steps in learning, coding, or helping can actually lead to something way bigger when done with the right intention.
