Inspiration

The inspiration behind our project stems from the recognition of several key factors:

  1. Empowering Content Creators: We believe that content creators should have greater control over their work and be fairly compensated for their expertise. Traditional tutorial platforms often limit their opportunities for monetization and control over distribution. We were inspired to create a platform that empowers content creators by providing them with ownership rights, fair royalties, and the ability to reach a wider audience.

  2. Leveraging NFT Technology: The rise of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) has revolutionized the concept of digital ownership and proven the viability of unique, verifiable digital assets. We were inspired by the potential of NFTs to transform the tutorial industry, enabling content creators to create valuable digital assets in the form of video tutorials and offering buyers the opportunity to acquire and distribute these assets securely.

What it does

  • Tutorial Platform: We have developed a tutorial website similar to Udemy, where content creators can upload their tutorials as video NFTs.

  • Purchase and Resale: Anyone can purchase these tutorials and gain the right to distribute and sell them further.

  • Royalty System: Upon selling a tutorial, a percentage of the sale price (royalty) is automatically paid to the original owner of the tutorial.

  • Flexible Pricing: Content creators have the freedom to set their own prices for their tutorials, allowing them to monetize their expertise.

  • NFT Certificates: Users enrolled in courses will receive certificates in the form of NFTs, providing them with secure and verifiable proof of completion.

  • Empowering Content Creators: Our platform empowers content creators by providing them with ownership rights, fair compensation through royalties, and a wider distribution network.

  • Transparent Tracking: The platform tracks each sale and automatically distributes royalties, ensuring transparency and accountability in revenue sharing.

  • Enhancing Learning Credentials: The issuance of NFT certificates adds value to learners' credentials, as they possess unique and tamper-proof proof of their achievements.

Through these features, our project revolutionizes the tutorial industry by offering content creators fair compensation, buyers the opportunity for distribution and resale, and learners secure proof of their accomplishments in the form of NFT certificates.

How we built it

  • Frontend:

We developed the frontend of our platform using React, a popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces. React allowed us to create a dynamic and responsive user interface for our tutorial website.

  • Smart Contract and Blockchain Integration:

For smart contract functionality and blockchain integration, we used the NEAR protocol. NEAR provided a secure and scalable infrastructure for our platform's smart contracts, allowing us to implement features such as NFT creation, ownership tracking, and royalty distribution.

  • Web 3 Integration:

To interact with the blockchain and enable Web 3 functionality, we leveraged Web 3 libraries and tools. Web 3 enabled seamless integration between our frontend and the NEAR blockchain, facilitating actions such as purchasing tutorials and tracking ownership.

  • Video Upload and Storage:

For video upload and storage, we utilized Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing service. Azure provided reliable and scalable storage solutions, allowing us to securely store and serve tutorial videos to our users.

  • Backend:

Our backend was built using Node.js, a JavaScript runtime environment. Node.js enabled us to handle server-side logic, manage database operations, and interact with external services such as Azure for video storage.

  • Integration and Deployment:

Throughout the development process, we ensured seamless integration between the frontend, backend, smart contracts, and external services. Continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines were set up to automate the build, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring a streamlined development workflow. Overall, our project was built using a tech stack that includes React for the frontend, NEAR for smart contracts and blockchain integration, Web 3 for seamless interaction with the blockchain, Azure for video upload and storage, and Node.js for the backend.
