We went viral!

We launched Massive 6 weeks ago. It went viral, but we didn't get it exactly right :(

The flurry of customer support tickets and angry emails helped us pinpoint exactly what we needed to fix.

So for the scope of the hackathon, we rebuilt Massive to focus on the 2 things that mattered most for our users:

"match me to great jobs"
"apply me better than I can by myself"

What we built

During the hackathon, our first focus was perfecting our job matching.

We wanted to understand a user so well, that we could match them to jobs they didn't even know about!

We did this by using GPT to parse their resume for not just titles, but things like career aspirations, company size and stage, career progression, hard & soft skills, and industries.

Next, we wanted to submit job applications better than a human could.

So we used GPT to:

fill out job applications,
create custom resumes for each job and
answer questions like, "Why do you want to work here?"

This is going to be Massive.

By rebuilding these 2 critical parts, we're able to build more trust with our users.

That trust helps us build a tool that runs on autopilot on users, even when they're not actively looking -- helping make Massive, well, massive.

The future

In the future, I think everyone's going to have their own personal AI recruiter. And I think the company that wins will have a fine-tuned "Job LLM" trained on large datasets of job, company, and applicant-specific data.

That's what we're working on :)

Our Unfair Advantage

We've been building Massive for a few months. So our unfair advantage here was access to data. We have structured data about 7M+ companies from databases like Harmonic and Pave. We've also created a way to scrape and categorize all their jobs.
