Inspiration

We drew inspiration from environmental concerns, technological innovation and data accessibility.

What it does

Log-A-Log pinpoints deforestation by tracking real-time tree coverage in areas susceptible to logging.

How we built it

We built Log-A-Log using a Flask frontend which handles image processing, and a React frontend which renders the webpage.

Challenges we ran into

We have experienced several issues using the MongoDB database as well as Google Maps API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have established a productive and effective workflow as a team that had no previous experience working together.

What we learned

We have explored the Google Maps API, improved our web development skills and teamwork and communication abilities.

What's next for Log-A-Log

Once key functionality is finalised, our aim is to spread more awareness about illegal deforestation by visualising trends over extended periods of time.
