Many students find themselves cramming over last-minute homework assignments, having sleepless study nights before an exam, and essentially procrastinating on tasks, leading to a poor work ethic. To encounter this problem, we have to look into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation focuses on how an individual performs a task because of its personal reward. For example, baking cookies could be an intrinsic motivation because of the personal interest in the task. Whereas extrinsic motivation derives from an external award to perform a task, such as exercising for the reward of a healthier body. Attempting to solve this dilemma, our team focuses on combining both intrinsic and extrinsic motivating factors to support our student demographic to exceed in their academic and personal goals.
