Inspiration
Islamic Education Program is a website that simplifies the daily tasks of an islamic teacher while serving as a useful tool for students! With this website teachers can create announcements, check attendance and assign homework. When the teacher assigns homework, the students to-do list changes. Students can check the announcements, their attendance and homework. Because of this islamic teachers are able to focus more on their teaching.
What it does
This website allows the teacher to mark a students attendance, create announcements, assign homework and choose class dates on the calendar. The functions for the students include checking attendance, announcements, homework, class dates and todo list.
How we built it
We built this website using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. We used visual studio code as our IDE and shared our code through Github.
Challenges we ran into
There were many challenges we faced. one of the challenges was that no one in our group was familiar with html, css or javascript. However we preserved and learned how to code within these languages. Another challenge we faced was the time limit; making sure to complete our project within the set time. We made sure to divide the tasks evenly and this allowed us to finish on time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One accomplishments that we are proud of are learning three coding languages in a few hours. Another accomplishment is creating a functioning website. The last accomplishment would be making a useful tool that will benefit our community.
What we learned
What we learned was how to effectively use javascript, HTML, and CSS in cohesion in order to make a functional website to help make daily tasks at local mosques more efficient. We were also able to learn how to give out orderly tasks and work together as a group to solve real-world tasks.
What's next for iep
What is next for IEP is to enhance the functions of the website to incorporate more digital material that students and teachers can access. To prepare it for use in mosques locally as a tool of online education.
