Inspiration
This project began when one of our friends told us about his mother regularly forgetting her medications and struggling to manage her cholesterol. We realized many seniors face this same hidden challenge every day.
Meanwhile, as many as 30-50% of elderly patients are non-adherent to their medications. With these realities in mind, we set out to build a tool that helps track medications and food — because preventing health crises starts with supporting everyday habits.
What it does
Calus AI helps elderly people take care of their health without stress. They simply scan photos of their medications and meals, and the app automatically understands what they’re taking and eating. It then gives gentle reminders, personalized advice, and early warnings if something looks risky. It’s like having a caring health companion that watches out for them every day — quietly, safely, and without any complicated steps.
What we build so far
Right now, we’ve built the frontend experience — a clean, senior-friendly interface where users can scan medications and food with just a tap. The key screens, flows, and UI interactions are in place to show how the system will work.
What's Next:
Build the backend infrastructure to connect your frontend with AI services and databases for processing medication/food images and generating health insights. Research medical databases, healthcare APIs, and regulatory requirements. Test with real elderly users to validate the concept
