Inspiration

We desired a platform, which would inspire us with various travel destinations. We wanted suggestions that fit to ourself.

How it works

We created aloha, which is a web-application that inspires you to discover new places. We integrated Facebook to filter your likes for Cities, Countries or places you've been or that you liked. These are added to you personal tag-cloud which could also be enriched by yourself with adding more tags. You can pick places, you want to see, get detailed Information about the destination, tours (via GetYourGuide), and all possibilities on how to get there (Rome2Rio and Lufthansa API). For the flight's its also possible to add ancillaries (Lufthansa API).

Challenges We ran into

We planed to integrate Expedia API for Hotels, and even coded everything well — but decided afterwards to drop the API because of its speed. Furthermore, we combined Sabre and Lufthansa API for better results. Integrating both in a perfect way caused some headache.
