Amendment I”

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

When the terrorists flew commercial airliners into the “Twin Towers,” the “Pentagon,” and crashed into the fields of Pennsylvania (due to the heroic efforts of the passengers on that plane} I was watching “CNN.” But, as was my usual activity, I had been flipping the remote control back and forth from CNN to”MSNBC.”  I hadn’t become familiar with Fox News. Heck maybe it didn’t even exist,! I don’t know. But, what I do know is that as the War in Iraq continued, I found myself becoming more and more dissatisfied with both CNN and MSNBC. I found FOX News and liked their style, the way they presented opposing views, and the fact that they seemed to present news and related issues in an unbiased manner. They also made a point of differentiating between fact and opinion with regards to their daily broadcasts.
FOX supported the troops. They supported the President. But, they did not hesitate to hold him accountable when the need arose. When Congress was slack at its job, be the problem Democratic, Republican, or the anti-government Socialist [Pelosi and company}, Fox spoke out.  As much as possible Fox news always seemed less inclined to be based on unsubstantiated  information. No secret memos were ever sent down from the top to “censor” coverage of news and events about the President, the War effort, Congress {be it a Republican or Democratic issue} down playing or spotlighting to create the effect of anything other than the actual truth and facts of events as known.

I cannot say the same for CNN or MSNBC! Continue reading ‘Progressives Want to censor Fox and Glenn Beck – It’s too late to quiet the screech of the screaming eagle!!’

The “Messenger of Death” doesn’t speak alone!!

Ahmadinejad Says Iran Is Ready For Talks With ...

Ahmadinejad has a new missile which he has appropriately called the “Messenger of Death.” There should be no surprise here for any intelligent human being. Ahmadinejad has never attempted to hide his agenda. He may have voiced a token denial to the U.N. Inspectors and world leaders. But, always, one must remember not to listen to what he says, rather what he does not say! I say Israel isn’t the only nation who needs to be on alert to his true intentions.    Ahmadinejad is a nut case with a cause. His goal is to spread Islam throughout the world and establish a “new “caliphate.”

I think the controversy over the New mosque in New York near “Ground Zero” is also a part of this Islāmic march to take over the world. It is meant to be just what it is, an insult to the memory of the “infidels” who died that fateful day, their families, and all Americans at large. I heard a news commentator talk about the new mosque today with a “moderate” Muslim. What he said pretty much agreed with my opinions. I want to take the discussion a step further and say I do not believe any real Muslim believer seeks any other goal for earth and humanity.

Presently in the U.S., the Islamics and the left have become allies of a sort. Their co-operation with each other is based on the principal, “the enemy of my enemy is my “friend!” Were they successful in collapsing America, both feel their individual goals of creating a new world order in their own ideological  image. Wonder if either side has thought far enough into the future about their “own” inescapable battle for world dominance! Neither is compatible with each other. “Arizona’s New Immigration Law.” What’s all the fuss about?

In a state overrun with ‘illegal aliens,” there are enormous problems faced by both the state and local law enforcement agencies and the legal state residents. Local health providers face an onslaught of patients who are not insured. Many undocumented, illegal aliens come to America to have children who are presently classified as “citizens.” The parents then have a means of trying to circumvent the normal immigration process to change their status to “legal” residents.” Normally illegal aliens are allowed to stay in the United States while their claims are being processed.  Welfare agencies and other local health and social services agencies are faced with an influx of people needing help. None of these people pay taxes into the systems which they bleed dry of funds paid by legal, tax paying citizens and aliens. Schools are crowded by an influx of children of these illegal aliens. Small businesses who hire only ‘legal” aliens and citizens can ‘t compete with those small business that will hire illegal aliens at lower salaries, without any benefits. America is no Longer the Land of the Free!

When I first started this blog, I was grieving the recent death of my nephew killed in Kuwait March 5, 2004. I needed something to help me get over his death, to make some sense of it all. I decided after reading several other blogs that my best tribute to Mike was to support others who had lost a loved one and to support our deployed troops. Over time grief gave way to other issues, always with our troops foremost in my mind.

I began to notice the same radical behavior throughout our nation I saw in the 60’s during and after Vietnam. As a Vietnam Era Veteran, non-combatant, I readily remember those days. The returning troops were never treated as heroes when they returned home. If they were lucky, they didn’t get spit on or listen to protesters calling them “baby killers!” The Anarchists, Socialists,Communists, Marxists elements in America thought they were going to take over this nation. They used Vietnam, Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, and every other legitimate social issue of the time to advance their efforts by infiltrating the fabric of those movements. Protest marches, bombs, and hate mail were their trademarks!

Whatever happened to “we the people?”

•March 21, 2010 • 2 Comments

Today is a day that will, as Obama says, go down in history. Though he says he believes what he and Congress are doing are best for America, I seriously doubt there is any truth to that sentiment. The popular polls running at 79% in opposition to HR-3570 ought to be a clear indicator that both Obama and the Congress have no desire to satisfy public concerns. Both are ignoring  the polls and adamant about passage of the traitorous Health Care Bill. Both seem to be totally unaware of the Constitutional constraints that bound them when they took their respective oaths of office.

Before I go any further, I want to reprint a couple topics from a newsletter I found by chance several years ago during a Google Search. The newsletter is published by the DSA, that’s the Democratic Socialists of America!

Take a close look at the date and the highlighted areas:

How “Do” You Catch Wild Pigs?

•March 19, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I have done little blogging since the past election. Disgust and burnout had much to do with my silence. Frustration and personal tragedy were also contributing factors.

With regard to my personal tragedy, on February 19, 2010, I lost my younger sister to brain cancer after a six month battle. Paralyzed on her dominate side, she gradually lost all functions on her left side and lost her ability to speak more than one or two words at a given time. She never lost her cognitive ability, her ability to understand or be aware of everything being said to her, her ability to see and hear everything around her. Through it all, she “never” once complained about the cancer, her pain, her mind being trapped in her body,  her impending death! She refused to ask for pain meds though she got to a point where she did not refuse them when offered at the very end! The staff loved her and all were amazed at her stoicism and strength, her morale, her ready smile for others! She seemed to be more concerned with our pain over her impending death and not imposing on the staff despite all our efforts to let her know we were all there for her.

Unknown to the family, she took many steps during her illness to make the handling of her personal affairs less of a burden to us all. As much as possible, she made her burial preparations at the cemetary, chose her own headstone. She died with the grace and dignity exhibited throughout her life, doing for others, asking for little for herself! Her love for all of us was, as always, evident in all she did and said. The grace, class, and dignity with which she lived and died are qualities seldom seen. I love you Jean. Your passing has left a huge hole in my heart and soul!

My disgust and frustration had to do with the politics and apathy I see in “our country” every day as “progressives” take our nation closer and closer to a “socialist nation” with “Communism” or “Marxism” slated as the ultimate goal for “their” America and Americans sit back and allow politicians to continue to ignore the “Constitution” and the “will of the people!” I found that no matter how much I wrote about these issues few people  ever seemed to care except the leftist who constantly tried to undermine my efforts. No matter how many sources I found to support my observations, my suspicions, few seemed interested. At times I noticed there was a tendency on people’s part to be mildly amused at my “ramblings” or paranoid” rantings. I became so absorbed with exposing what I saw as a great threat to our Constitution and the welfare of our nation, I felt myself drawn away more and more from my original goal on this blog, supporting our troops and honoring the memory of my nephew, Michael, and all our lost men and women who died defending our great nation! I just felt burned out!

She Did It Her Way

•February 18, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I started this blog to pay tribute to our troops and in memory of my nephew, Michael, who was killed in Kuwait on March 5, 2004. The picture at the top is Michael as he slept in route to Kuwait. Over time my blog has allowed me a venue to speak out on behalf of the troops, Michael, and events in our country. I never thought I would again be writing here to pay tribute to another loved one.

As I write, Michael’s Mom, my sister, Jean, lays dying of brain cancer in a local VA facility. She is now facing her final journey. Whether it be hours, days or several weeks, we don’t know. What I do know is how deeply sad I feel to watch her struggle  with such dignity and grace as she still holds onto to life.

Just another “banana republic!?”

•December 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I haven’t felt much like blogging for a while. I had begun to feel like I was wasting my time, talking to the wind, out of touch with everything and everyone. I began to realize that what started out as a forum to show support to our troops had become entrenched in political clap trap from all sides. Much of my time seemed to be occupied with a desperate sense of trying to forestall the inevitable slide I felt all around me. Our nation, my country, was moving away from all I held and hold ear. All those principles I hold dear about rights, freedoms, the integrity of the Constitution, and all it stands for seemed to be on the verge of dissolving right before my very eyes.

I felt a consuming sense of helplessness to do or say anything that would make a difference no matter how hard I tried to stop this spiral. Then the elections came and went. My worst fears were realized. A man who in my eyes stood for all I abhorred was elected president. I just couldn’t believe that in America, the Democratic model for the world ever since its inception, Socialism and its predatory supporters realized their long sought goal, the White House and the very halls of Congress. I took a break. I needed it. My anger and sense of betrayal was all-consuming. All our fallen troops must be rolling over in their graves.  Those serving must wonder why they should continue to risk their lives to serve and protect on foreign soil while the nation they try so hard to defend simply gave away, no betrayed all those values and ideals we all as veterans hold dear  just goes to show that with enough money and a voter apathy that can be depended on anyone can buy their way into power and th White House in America.

I heard someone use the expression, “”banana republic ” this past week in reference to America. I wish I could say their unflattering remark was unjustified!

Has God Gone on Vacation?

•September 28, 2009 • 3 Comments

Mike’s mom, my sister, has brain cancer. We don’t know what her prognosis will be except it is inoperable! We are all shocked over this and very much afraid. My sister has always been such a very strong, smart, lively person, it is very hard to see her struggle with this horrible disease. She can’t walk on her own. She can’t get out of her bed alone. She forgets things. She doesn’t remember things. She often has a blank stare on her face. Then as suddenly as it appeared, the look goes away. The only blessing is she apparently feels little or no pain because of the location of the brain tumors.

Each passing day as I and my family await the next meeting with her doctor to hear how effective her radiation treatments were. I am also afraid it will arrive. I don’t want to hear that it hasn’t helped. I don’t want to hear that chemo isn’t a consideration or the next step because radiation didn’t help. I want to hear that she is OK. I want to hear that there has been some terrible, sick mistake. I want my sister back  just the way she was before this terrible disease started ravaging her brain in such a callous and cruel manner!

I want to hear my sister’s voice as I enter the door to my Mom’s house as she and my Mom fuss over the fan; Mom’s too cold, my sister’s too hot! I want to hear her talk about the latest escapades of Mike’s kids. I want to hear her and my Mom answer the Jeopardy questions like they both have for so many years before now! I want to hear what new dish she found on the internet and cooked for supper.

In 1971, we lost the oldest of my younger brothers to cancer. He was 21! His suffering was unbearable. But, we survived. We had to. He would have wanted or accepted nothing less from us all! And, there was Mike, my sister’s beautiful, three month old baby boy. Now, Mike is gone. He died in Kuwait, March 5, 2004! It seems such cruel irony, that now his mom may be taken from us too! I believe in God. But, at times like these, all I want to do is rant at Him.

I have found myself bargaining with God. Take me first. It is my turn. I’m the oldest. Why are you so unfair? But, all my rants and questions fall on deaf ears. It is as if God has gone on vacation. He didn’t leave anyone in charge. Or, maybe he did and whoever is in charge has let all that power over life and death go to his or her head! Just wait until God returns! He will fix this mess. Hey, you, in-charge person, God’s gonna be angry at you when He returns. You better fix this mess now! Don’t you realize how much pain and suffering you are causing? Please, you gotta fix this mistake! I won’t tell. God will never know from me. PLEASE????

I found a couple new blogs today. At least they are new to me. The first one is, Serendipity Hopeful, by Novice101 out of Malasyia. His post Now is as good a time as any for gratefulness is really good. The title is self explanatory.
The second blog is by a deployed milblogger, BT. It is called TheWarOnBigTobacco. BT has a great post called, Band of Geldings. The post is honest and down to earth. You want to know how some of our troops feel, read his post! When you visit these blogs, be sure to check out their other posts.

While you’re at it, MADTOM has a great blog. He is a milblogger too. His blog is a compilation of all sides of the war effort and whatever issues he writes about. In his own words:

“The thing that I want to do different with this blog, is that I want to post stories from the point of view of all the different characters that make up this war. I want to post stories from G.I.Joe, and from his enemy Haji, or from the point of view of their families. The idea is for anyone, be they friend or foe that has something to say, a story to tell, about this, or any war, can send it to me and I will post it here, anonymously.”

It is a great blog called, This Fucking War. Want to know what is going on, read his blog for the whole circle of information on all sides of issues. I enjoy reading his posts.
