Dates

This hackathon spans Saturday, February 8th to Sunday, February 9th. Submissions should be made by 10:59am on Sunday, February 9th.

Eligibility

Any undergraduate or graduate Columbia students registered for DevFest may participate. Prizes will be alotted amongst group members.

Submission Requirements

Participants are required to submit complete and incomplete code on DevPost, with a description about the problem the hack is solving. Unfinished products are also welcome to be judged.

Submission Rights & Display

Sponsors reserve the right to view the submission documents and code provided on DevPost and use the participants' names and projects in future DevFest websites.

Prizes & Winner Selection

Prizes will be determined by the judges outlined on devfe.st/ on the basis of completenesscapability of solving a real-world problem, and creativity. See below for the top three-place prizes:

First Place Prize: $1000 in PayPal or Venmo and $500 in DigitalOcean Credits

Second Place Prize: $750 in PayPal or Venmo and $400 in DigitalOcean Credits

Third Place Prize: $500 in PayPal or Venmo

The following prize will be awarded solely on the basis of creativity and capability of solving a real-world problem. Completeness is optional:

Beginner's Prize: Surface Go

The following prize will be awarded to the hack that is "most capable of solving a real-world problem" related to, but not limited to hunger, poverty, socioeconomic status, class discrepancies, political incongruencies:

Best Hack for Social Good: $1000 in DigitalOcean Credits

Functioning App

Your app or product is not exclusively required to function, but this will be a great plus for judges!

What to enter

Along with your completed code and graphics, it's helpful to submit screenshots and videos of your product working or how you intend your product to work!
