Fingerprint Challenge #1 - Catch a Fraudster: Build Your Own Fraud Prevention System
1st Place: $1000
Contact: taylor.english@fingerprint.com
Can you outsmart a fraudster? Fingerprint is a device intelligence platform that provides the tools you need to detect and prevent fraud. Your mission is to build a system that uses Fingerprint Identification and Smart Signals to expose and prevent fraud on your platform. The type of platform is up to you — e-commerce, social media, subscription services, or even an app to pair people based on their pizza-topping preferences (pineapple lovers unite!) — the more creative, the better!
Your project must incorporate Smart Signals and use the Fingerprint Visitor ID in both of the following ways:
- Counting Visitor IDs linked to one piece of data. For example, flagging unusual activity when multiple visitor IDs start using a single payment method.
- Counting data linked to one Visitor ID. For example, stopping romance fraud by catching a Visitor ID linked to multiple fake dating app profiles.
Feel free to use these examples or come up with your own creative ideas.
Your final project should clearly demonstrate fraud detection and/or prevention in action so we can see the bad guys get caught in real time. Be sure to include instructions on what we need to do to trigger your fraud alerts. Bonus points for adding an admin view where judges can easily review fraudulent activity detected by your system.
Note: If you do not have a Fingerprint account, sign up for a free trial at https://dashboard.fingerprint.com/signup. Your Fingerprint trial may expire before the hackathon or judging period ends. To keep things running smoothly, submit your Fingerprint workspace ID using this form: https://forms.gle/E6PnmSqbsLajXw1i6, and we’ll extend your trial for the duration of the event.

2. Creativity and innovation: Does the project demonstrate unique or inventive approaches to solving fraud challenges?
3. User experience and presentation: Is the system user-friendly and clearly presented, with an intuitive way to showcase fraud detection in action?
Fingerprint Challenge #2 - Think Outside the Fraud: Build Something Fun with Fingerprint
1st Place: $1000
Contact: taylor.english@fingerprint.com
Fingerprint device intelligence provides insightful data for detecting and preventing fraud, but for this challenge, we want you to unleash your creativity! Your goal is to use Fingerprint Identification or Smart Signals to build something fun, surprising, or totally unexpected. Whether it’s a game, a quirky app, or a completely out-of-the-box tool, the only rule is to steer away from fraud prevention and focus on fun and innovation.
To impress the judges, include a way for them to interact with or experience your project firsthand with clear instructions. For bonus points, consider adding delightful surprises like Easter eggs, using Smart Signals in clever or unexpected ways, or tying the project together with a compelling theme or narrative.

### Judging Criteria
1. Creativity and fun: How imaginative, entertaining, or surprising is the project?
2. Effective use of Fingerprint: Does the project use Fingerprint Identification or Smart Signals in a meaningful and inventive way?
3. User experience and presentation: Is the project easy to interact with and enjoyable to experience?

Join Trackonomy in Solving Critical Real-World Challenges
Hi Innovators,
At Trackonomy, we are transforming industries with real-time visibility and predictive insights to prevent errors and drive operational excellence. From logistics and airlines to healthcare and industrial operations, we deliver cutting-edge solutions that solve the world’s most critical problems.
With over 100 million products shipped globally, Trackonomy’s platform allows for rapid development of applications that connect AI to physical assets. As part of this hackathon, you will use the Trackonomy platform to develop powerful solutions that combine real-time intelligence with automation, driving immediate impact across multiple industries.
Here’s what we need you to solve—and the chance to win big:
#1 Protect Pets from Cold Storage
Why It Matters:
Pets are beloved family members, and mistakes during air cargo handling—such as placing pets in cold storage—can lead to serious, life-threatening situations. Preventing these errors is not just a technological challenge; it’s about protecting lives, ensuring safe travel, and delivering a positive customer experience.
The Challenge:
Using the Trackonomy platform, build a smart monitoring system that detects when a pet (or other precious cargo) is about to be placed in cold storage (or in the wrong area). Generate an alert when the pet is in a certain geofence to trigger corrective actions, ensuring handlers are immediately notified and errors are prevented.
Stretch Goal:
Integrate third party text-to-speech synthesis to provide real-time alerts.
Make the phrase configurable as well as dependent on location.
Impact: Prevent life-threatening mistakes, set a new standard for live animal cargo management, and disrupt how error prevention and intervention are handled in logistics.
Why This Hackathon?
Real-World Use Cases: Work on meaningful challenges that can improve logistics, healthcare, and industrial operations.
Trackonomy Platform: Develop your solutions on a powerful platform that connects AI to physical assets and enables rapid application development.
Mentorship & Support: Collaborate with Trackonomy experts to guide your project to success.

#2 Predictive Estimator for Critical Pharmaceutical Shipments
Why It Matters:
Pharmaceutical shipments—especially temperature-sensitive ones—must arrive on time to maintain efficacy and safety. Delays can result in significant losses and potentially harm patients waiting for life-saving medications.
The Challenge:
Build a predictive ETA estimator for critical pharmaceutical ground shipments using current GPS data and destination coordinates to calculate arrival times through simple algebra. Develop an early warning system for potential delays, enabling corrective actions to ensure timely delivery. Send a real-time text notification 30 minutes before shipment arrival, allowing handlers to prepare for timely delivery and reduce response delays.
Stretch Goal:
Explore third-party integration with Google Maps or similar routing services to leverage routing optimization engines to improve ETA assessments .
Build a 3D visualization for shipment journeys using Google Earth-style mapping, allowing users to view shipments at a global scale and zoom into specific regions for real-time insights.
Leverage third party shipper APIs to integrate data fields from shippers.
Impact: Ensure the timely delivery of life-saving medications, reduce waste, improve public health, and create a new standard for global shipment tracking and predictive logistics.
