Sofia Operator App is a platform based on HbbTV Operator App technology that delivers the full operator experience directly on the TV without a set-top box. Compared to other existing Operator Apps, Sofia Operator App stands out with its versatility and adaptability, supporting both satellite and DVB-I environments and designed for use across global markets.
The platform is white-label by design, adaptable to different operator backends and content sources, including DVB-I service discovery for hybrid channel and EPG data. This flexibility allows any operator to launch a branded, feature-rich service without heavy integration or additional hardware.
From the viewer’s perspective the app provides hybrid live channel playback with seamless switching between DVB and IP, a comprehensive program guide with rich metadata and direct links to VOD catalogs and catch-up content. It takes over the complete TV environment with features such as info banners, channel list, search, advanced VOD playback with season and episode navigation, personalized recommendations, favorites and continue watching.
A multilingual framework with full right-to-left and left-to-right navigation makes the app uniquely suitable for culturally diverse regions.
