gamescom dev is Europe’s leading game developer event, the official developer conference of gamescom, and one of the most important global platforms for developers, publishers, and industry professionals.

Throughout the year, gamescom dev provides a space for meaningful exchange, knowledge sharing, and collaboration — always guided by the values of diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.

gamescom dev and all its branded formats are developed and organized by game events GmbH, a subsidiary of game, the association of the German games industry.

From devcom to gamescom dev

First launched in 2017 under the name devcom, the conference was created to cater for the needs of the games industry and offer a dedicated developer platform alongside gamescom, the world’s largest games event. What started as an umbrella for several development-focused events quickly grew into a full-scale, year-round experience built around game development, publishing, networking, and community building.

In 2025, devcom officially became gamescom dev — a name that reflects its close connection to gamescom and its evolution into a central meeting point for the international games industry. The mission remains the same: to bring together professionals and decision-makers and provide them with the insights, opportunities, and visibility they need to succeed.

A Legacy of Growth & Impact

From its very first edition in 2017 with over 3,000 attendees, the conference has seen continuous growth, expanding its program, international reach, and year-round offerings.

Even during the fully digital years of 2020 and 2021, the event connected more than 2,000 participants worldwide and built a vibrant online community through livestreams, summits, and special formats.

Since returning on-site in 2022, the event has set new attendance records every year.
The 2025 edition welcomed 5,400 registered attendees from 89 countries, representing over 2,500 companies. Across 17 stages, 390 speakers shared their expertise in 220 sessions, while 53 exhibitors showcased their work on the expo floor — including the acclaimed gamescom dev Indie Expo.

Why gamescom dev?

gamescom dev is more than a conference — it’s an industry hub for the people who make up and define the games industry. Participants gain cutting-edge insights, forge meaningful business connections, and expand their visibility across the international market.

Key highlights include:

  • A vibrant global network of developers, creators, executives, and industry leaders
  • A diverse program of talks, workshops, matchmaking, showcases and side-events
  • A year-round agenda with leadership summit, networking dinners, and exclusive partner events

With its unique position as part of the gamescom ecosystem, gamescom dev continues to evolve, always focused on empowering the developer community and creating the future of games together.
