Why I Recommend Using Lyrical Host for Your Blog

My blog is hosted by a company called Lyrical Host which I can highly recommend.

Disclosure: This post contains an affiliate link which means that I receive a commission if you make a purchase via the link. This will cost you no extra. I only recommend products and services I trust. All opinions are my own. For more details see my disclosure policy.

Lyrical Host is a friendly, reliable and extremely helpful hosting company. I began using Lyrical in 2019 and have been with them ever since and I have no intention of moving elsewhere. If you’d like to use Lyrical Host, you can use my code – DP10, to get a 10% discount.

I’d already been running Despite Pain for a year when I switched over from WordPress.com. When I first started blogging, I didn’t realise that there were two versions of WordPress. There is the .com version and there is wordpress.org. Confused? I was when I discovered that.

I had been using the .com version and to make the switch to .org, I needed to find a company to host my blog. I also needed to find a company that would do the switchover for me because I have no technical knowledge.

There are so Many Hosting Companies – But Lyrical is the One I’d Recommend Using

I had put a lot of time and effort into my blog over that first year so I had to get this change right. My blog would need to be migrated to the WordPress.org version. I worried about that because I have zero technical knowledge. Therefore I needed to find a good host that was affordable and that would migrate my blog for me.

I had no idea which hosting company to use. There are so many. There are also so many special offers online with such fantastic deals. But just how fantastic were they?

Special Deals

Many companies had ‘special deals’. I learned a long time ago that if something seems too good to be true, it very often is. I discovered that their special deals were short-lived. If you signed up for six months, those six months would be at the offer price but after that, there is a huge price hike. It might be double, it might be much more than that. Some companies don’t include VAT in the price they advertise, so it’s deceiving. Those special deals are simply to reel people in.

Customer Services

I contacted the customer service departments of a few companies which I was considering. I felt their responses on my simple/non-technical minded questions might help me make up my mind. They did. Some customer services didn’t reply to me. Some weren’t helpful. Some were pushy and tried to persuade me to take a plan with them because the price would increase soon, so “don’t miss the boat”.

Reviews

I read reviews of all the companies I was interested in on independent review sites. Most weren’t too flattering. Bad service, lost content, didn’t migrate the blog properly, terrible customer service etc etc.

Other Bloggers’ Recommendations

I asked other bloggers for opinions, especially those who blog in a chronic illness group I belong to. Word of mouth is normally helpful.

Migration

I needed a company to migrate my blog. Some do that, but many of the companies charge. I contacted one company to ask them about it. They said there would be a £60 fee. I said that I would need to look elsewhere because I couldn’t afford that. He then said, ok, we’ll do it free of charge. I didn’t trust him.

Then Someone Recommended Lyrical Host

Lyrical Host had everything I was interested in. As well as blog hosting, they can provide email, they offer tutorials about almost everything blog related and many other free resources. They also have a friendly and helpful Facebook group for customers. It all sounded good and ticked the following boxes.

Price

They have a straightforward pricing policy. It’s simple to understand with no hidden charges. They don’t have those special offers which look good on the surface. The price you see is the price you pay and the price will not increase.

Customer Service

Before signing up, I contacted Lyrical Host via their online chat box to ask a few questions. They had so much patience and answered all of my queries. I actually felt as though I was chatting with an old friend.

Reviews

I have not read a bad review about Lyrical Host. Every review gives positive, glowing feedback about this company.

Other Bloggers’ Recommendation

Just like the reviews, it seems that anyone who uses Lyrical Host never has a bad word to say about them.

Migration

The company can migrate blogs. The client can do it themselves if they have the knowledge or they can do it free of charge.

I Have no Regrets About Choosing Lyrical Host and I Highly Recommend Them

They migrated my blog for me. I was able to book a date and time, and right on cue, they sent a message so it could get underway. It was finished in two or three hours. They were extremely patient and helpful in answering all my questions.

Since hosting with them I can chat online or use the Facebook group if I have a general query, or I can raise a ticket if there’s a problem. I’ve had no problems regarding my hosting. There have been no hitches or glitches. A couple of times I haven’t been sure about how to do something on my blog and the group admin suggested raising a ticket. The response has always been extremely fast, and more than helpful. They go out of their way to help their customers.

The service I have received from Lyrical Host has been second to none and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new host for your blog or website.

Lyrical Host 10% Discount Code

If you are considering using them, do remember to use my discount code DP10 at the checkout.

This is an affiliate link, therefore I do receive a small commission if you use it. However, without that, I would still recommend them. I honestly believe that this is an excellent hosting company.

Hi Robby, I’ve been with them for about 14 months and I don’t think I’ve had any downtime. I’ve not heard anyone else complain about that either. If you contact them, they’ll be able to chat to so you can ask any questions you have.
