Desktop Google Reader is a free and open code application with which you will be able to check the news on your Google Reader without having to open the browser.
It looks compact and similar to other RSS desktop readers. The main advantage is that we can synchronize the previously read feeds with our Google Reader account.
The program also supports the addition and elimination of feeds or notifications, reading the news from the original source, sending news to social networks or by e-mail and integration with Read It Later and Instapaper.
From the preferences windows we can configure details like the update frequency, the way in which notifications are shown or the automatic updates.
If you usually use Google Reader, you may find Desktop Google Reader useful.

I was very surprised, it works more or less well, and I like how it imitates the functionality of Google Reader. Even so, I will continue using the web client.
