How we work

From building beautiful, sustainable websites, to designing impact reports that make waves, we’re driven by a shared passion for purpose. And we bring that energy to every project we take on. We work with you, not just for you, as we design brands, websites and reports that are as unique as your mission.

Collaboration and co-creation

Great work comes from great collaboration. That’s why we’ll work hand-in-hand with you to ensure that your project is a true partnership, where your vision and our experience come together to create something amazing.

Conversations not presentations

No-one knows your brand better than you. Our process is all about open communication, so your voice is always heard. By staying connected, sharing ideas and being open to feedback, we ensure that we’re all on the same page at every step. The result? Work we’re all proud of, that makes an impact.

Straight talking

You can trust us to give you our honest thoughts on the best approach for your organisation. Our team isn’t afraid to share our opinions , even if it means challenging ideas or offering something bolder, ensuring that every decision is rooted in what’s best for your brand and your goals.

Next level know-how

You need your creative partner to understand what makes you tick, so diving deep into your brand is a non-negotiable in our projects. With decades of collective experience in the world of communication and design, we blend our knowledge with a deep understanding of your brand, delivering projects that capture your values.

Partnerships with common values

Whether you’re a non-profit, a social enterprise, or a company with a cause, we only do work we believe in, and we know that the best projects are built on shared values. When we’re on the same page about what matters – creativity, sustainability, accessibility and inclusion – the collaboration feels seamless.

FAQs

What does Oxygen specialise in?

Oxygen specialises in design and communication exclusively for purpose-driven clients. This could look like a refresh to your existing logo and colour palette, a full rebrand process, a suite of social media assets, an annual report, or a full website redesign.

Where is your agency based, and do you work with global clients?

Our core team is based remotely across the UK, with clients spanning Europe, America, Africa and New Zealand. We are flexible and agile, and we often find it works to our advantage to work across time zones, meaning your team wake up to deliverables in your inbox that you can feed back on whilst we’re asleep.

What is your approach to designing brands and websites?

Our approach is grounded in collaboration, meaning we work with our clients as if we were an in-house team. With regular project check-ins and ample feedback opportunities, we truly believe in co-creating beautiful work for our clients that shows the incredible impact they’re having.

How do you ensure your work is inclusive, accessible and sustainable?

We embed sustainability, inclusivity and accessibility principles from the very start of our process, to ensure our work delivers on our commitments to people and planet.

We’ve written a Guide to Inclusive Communications, which includes some of the practical considerations and steps we take, while we are working on a similar guide for Sustainable Communications.

We work to industry level standards for accessibility, while using powerful tools to measure and reduce carbon footprint of our websites and digital applications.

Why are you B Corp certified?

Since we were founded, we have only ever worked with like-minded brands on a mission to do good things in the world. Once we became independent, it felt like natural step to formalise all the positive impact we were having through the B Corp framework. It’s so much more than a tick-box for our team, it’s how we live and breathe our values in our day-to-day work.

Do you work with other B Corps?

100%! Quite a few of our clients are fellow B Corps and we’re actively involved with Oxfordshire+ B Local. We believe that B Corp certification illustrates a commitment to people and planet that aligns with our own views, and we always love to collaborate with fellow B Corp companies.

Why should we choose you?

We’re 100% values-driven and our team is incredibly passionate about what we do – and we bring this energy to every project we take on. Not only do we have collective decades of experience in the design and purpose-led space, but as a small team, we also offer flexibility and agility that many larger agencies do not.

How do you decide who you work with?

We understand that ‘purpose’ can sometimes have grey areas, and that there is potential for good in most sectors. That being said, we are signatories of Clean Creatives, so we’ll never work with fossil fuel clients. We typically assess our potential clients on a case-by-case basis and are working on creating an internal framework to help us with this going forward.

Do you work with start-ups and charities?

Absolutely, start-ups and charities are some of our favourite types of clients to work with. With experience in building bold brands that embed your values, and creating websites that convert to funding and donations, our team is well placed to help your charity or start-up across our range of services, regardless of your size.

How do you embed sustainability into your design projects?

Our designers use Sustainable Design Principles in all of their work. Our impact lead also has a Master’s degree in sustainability and is a member of ISEP to keep us up to date with everything planet related!

How do you ensure your work is accessible and inclusive?

Accessibility is central to our design process, and we embed best practices into all of our work. By choosing legible typefaces, ensuring sufficient contrast and clear hierarchy of information, we ensure our projects help to meet WCAG guidelines. Our partnership with MyVision Oxfordshire helps to improve the accessibility of all of our web design projects.

We prioritise clarity, empathy and representation, ensuring our work is respectful to people of all backgrounds, abilities, identities, and experiences.

Do you offer workshops or strategy sessions?

Yes – whether you’re looking for something strategic, wanting to discuss your values or you’re needing a new name or messaging, we can create bespoke, facilitated workshops with all your key stakeholders, making complex processes engaging and ensuring full buy-in from your teams.

How much do your projects typically cost?

There’s no fixed cost for the services we offer as our projects are typically bespoke to a particular client and dependent on the scope of the work needing to be carried out. However, we do always endeavor to be transparent and flexible with our pricing, given that many of our clients operate on tight budgets.
