Changes: Version History Bug fix: When using Density Altitude outside of cell service, Density Altitude+ now again correctly uses Onboard barometer. The issue was a recently added iOS privacy setting.
If you're a current user and are still not prompted to allow the app to access the barometer, you can go into Settings-> Privacy & Security-> Motion & Fitness and enable access for Density Altitude+ there.

[email protected] 2.8 08/09/2024 This version uses a new Elevation API provider since our previous Elevation API provider is shutting down. This only affects the location search feature, and accuracy should be even better!

Follow us on Instagram @rateofclimbindustries 2.6.1 10/26/2021 New Major Feature: Location Search! You can now compute the Density Altitude and all other atmospheric data at any point on earth, from anywhere on Earth! Either type in you location search or Long Press on any location on the map.
Use this feature to see what conditions are at another location for educational purposes. Since calculations are based on weather data fetched from a weather API and not on actual physical readings, the results won't be as accurate as in the default "Instrument" mode, but will be as close as possible. The same goes for elevation data, which is based on an elevation API and not GPS altitude as it is in Instrument mode.
Bug fix: Parts of the display were being clipped on iPhone 6s. This is now fixed.
Improvement: General display polish
Bug fix: humidity was sometimes not properly applied when certain units were chosen. This is now fixed.
Improvement: Updated for iOS 15.

The good news is that we have upgraded to an even more accurate and feature-rich weather source, which will make some exciting new features possible that we're currently working on.

Since the forecast.io weather API will be discontinued in January, I've done a lot of research to find the most suitable replacement going forward. This version uses Climacell which provides global, hyperlocal weather data. My hope is that it will provide even more accurate data. I've done a lot of testing, but let me know with the in-app feedback button if you have any issues. Thanks!

Version 2.2 adds a Manual mode which is useful for planning or trying out scenarios. Tap the slider icon in the top right of your screen to toggle Manual Mode on or off. Once in Manual Mode, you can set Altitude, Temperature, Dew Point, Station or Absolute Pressure and/or Altimeter Setting. The app will dynamically calculate all other values. Toggle back to Automatic Mode to get your local, current conditions.
I always welcome feedback and feature requests. Contact me anytime through the email link in the settings menu, or at
