It's called Crossers, and it's a YA ghost romance. You can read the whole thing for free over at Swoon Reads, and if in return you'd rate it or give me feedback, I'd be very grateful.
If the publishers running the site notice my story because it gets enough love/attention, they could offer me a traditional publishing contract. That's basically my dream version of life, so all help is appreciated!

Okay, so not real big drama, but still more than I'd like. This is a reposting of a Facebook thread. The exchange is behind the cut. The first part in quotes was the message that accompanied my aunt's friend request. I messaged her back directly, my replies are in italics. The most important part of this exchange for me, beyond the amount of crazy involved and the shock that she contacted me -- I haven't spoken to my blood relations in over 4 years-- is the amazing amount of intolerance and rudeness involved, for someone who was raised in the same Christian tradition that I was. I may have found my own beliefs, but I still think she embodies the exact opposite of the sorts of things that I was taught Christianity is about.
It took all my hard-earned maturity not to respond to most of it, including her unfounded claims about people who are gay and her statements about caring about me-- this is the woman who I contacted when we were living in our car, because she has ties to the community and I was wondering about services that could help-- who refused to help us because she wouldn't want to expose her friends to my "lifestyle". Very Christian, eh?
I chose to not stoop to her level, though, because I don't see the point in affecting the world that way. I also get an ironic joy out of behaving the way I know my grandmother, and her mother, would expect of me, her sweet Christian granddaughter. I may not be that girl these days, but I think I behaved more in that respect than my aunt, the Executive Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

I love her soaps and especially the chapstick I picked up at a Sugarhouse farmer's Market.

Hi there.
Sorry it's been so long... I was excessively busy for a while, and suffered through two or three eye infections in July alone.
We just barely scraped together the rent for August, and had to put off everything else: utility bills, non-poisonous glasses or contacts for me, household items. I'm also weeks behind with the penpals I found, as we don't have enough stamps for me to write regularly yet and I can't afford more.
However, Kayla's home and less obnoxious a roommate than she used to be, and making the rent in itself was a huge relief.
Also, I finally got my bracelet-selling journal up and running. I make them all myself and would love it if you'd stop by and check things out.
Kaleidoscope Bracelets is here.
