The Journal of Graduate Librarianship (JGL) is the first scholarly journal dedicated exclusively to matters pertaining to graduate librarianship. JGL publishes articles on all aspects and types of graduate librarianship, and seeks to advance the qualities contained in the acronym SHOP: Shared Honest Open Practice. Learn more about JGL.
Call for Book Reviews
JGL is adding book reviews...with a twist! Rather than traditional book reviews, we seek evaluative recommendations (500–700 words) of books likely to interest the graduate librarian community. To be considered for the 2026 volume, reviews must be submitted by June 1, 2026. Learn more about our approach to book reviews.
Article Submissions Now Closed
JGL's submission window for peer-reviewed articles and Sharing Our Stories pieces closed on April 1, 2026. We will re-open article and SOS submissions in December 2026.
JGL Now in DOAJ
JGL has been accepted for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals! See our DOAJ entry.
