Hi everyone. So now that the whole claiming thing is done over there. I would like to announce that I'm a masochist and signed up for the Captain America Big Bang this summer. I'm 14k and change in so far.

But here's the thing. I need a beta.

I'm not looking for much. Just an extra set of eyes looking for typos, missed words and the occasional comma issue.

You don't even have to be well versed in Cap mythos for this (I'm heavily blending 616 and MCU stuff), but there's some child abuse and violence stuff going on here so, if that's not your think, I totally understand.

So as of tonight, Jon's gone to Timmins. Kiddo is still pretty upset, not really haven't been seperated from either of us for very long in the past and a year sounds like forever to him.

Honestly, I'm not sure that i'm doing much better but there's not really a choice here so I just keep reminding myself of that. One of the guys at work made a comment about me being a single mom for awhile and... jfc that sort of drove it home. I'm not entirely sure I'm going to be able to pull of that, and work, and school. But I have to so... failure is not an option.

Anyway, I'm still plugging along on some fic, mostly as a distraction right now but we'll see if I can't get it moving at a faster pace now that things are going to settle down a bit.

So... things are happening at an alarming rate.

Jon finally found an articling position so he's well on his way to being called to the bar here in Canada. It feels like it's been forever but apparently for someone who got their degree out of country, this came very quickly.
The downside to all this is... the position is in Timmins, Ont.

That is... most of the way across the country.

So, as I am not a quitter, I will be staying here in Calgary to finish my program at SAIT and so Alexander can have another year at least with his friends here and Jon's going to Timmins for a year.

Which... well... sucks. A lot.

Hopefully by the time I graduate, he'll be done and we can look for work in a place a little less in the middle of nowhere but for the next year, it's back to the long distance family thing.

We've done it before--kiddo hasn't, but we have--so we know we can get through it and work and school will take up a lot of our time but still. I hate that we have to do this.

So I'm filling my time with trying to find a summer intern position. I've sent out a ton of resumes and had an interview (not one I find particularly promising but the interviewers might just have massively good poker faces) so we'll see how that goes.

So that's life here for now. Wish us all luck. We're going to need it.

Of course, it's missing deadlines. That's the good thing about summers! At least, it is for most people... apparently not so much me.

So I signed up to do a Captain America big bang fic. Yes, I'm doing another big bang because I hate myself and I never learn my lesson, but ... well, it's open to comics stuff too so I'm going to do something I've been batting around my brain for ages and see if I can squeeze 15k out of it...

I should be able to. It's a big idea.

But that's all I can say for now. lol Once artist sign ups finish, I can babble at you all more publicly about what I'm doing.

On the upside, I have one more week of school this semester and I’m up to my ass in final projects.

Well, it's official. My final grades for the first semester came in and I am officially a 4.0 gpa student! Four A+ and an A. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!

So now that I can stop (needlessly) worrying about all that, I can spend a couple weeks writing for fun again (imagine that!!!) and organizing all the stuff I want to do here on DW now that it's active again. I'm so absolutely thrilled that marvelrarepairs is jumping again and everyone should go check it out. Why yes, I am shamelessly promoting my comm. LOL

Anyway, hopefully I can get some ficcing done over the next few weeks before I have to start writing for grades again. Wish me luck!
