I got off at Green Park, in order to get a bus the rest of the way. Anyway, at the bus stop someone had left a small woman's bag.
A gentleman next to me asked me whether it was my bag. I told him no, so becoming quite anxious, he started waving at the two
police officers on the other side of the road. They seemed to start that avoiding eye contact thing that only waiters normally tend to do,
so he ran out in-front of the oncoming traffic, stopping cars and buses alike and started shouting at them "there's an unattended bag there". They strolled over, peered into the bag, picked it up and casually walked down to the tube station to hand it to lost property.
I'm not sure whether to be worried that people are overreacting to the events last week, or that the police are being very casual about the whole thing.
