About the Hackathon:
DataVortex SkyIntellect Hackfest 2025 is a global 24-hour software hackathon organized by student-led clubs of KL University — including the School of Data Science Club, Cyber Security Club, Garuda Club, and VEDA Club.
This hackathon invites student innovators to develop impactful, software-based solutions in emerging domains such as Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Drone Technology. With expert mentorship, global collaboration, and an exciting offline finale, it's an ideal platform to learn, innovate, and grow.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Teams must consist of 1 to 4 members, all from the same college
- No cross-college teams and no multiple entries per participant
- Each team may submit only one idea
- Submissions must be made through Unstop or Devpost
- Projects must be original and developed during the hackathon
- All team members must bring their own components
- Participants must stay on campus for the full duration of the offline event
- Accommodation is provided
- Internship opportunities will be offered to top-performing teams based on performance and interview rounds
- Prize distribution may take time and is subject to evaluation and performance
- Participants should follow only official communications shared via the website and email
- Teams must stay active and responsive regarding review schedules and shortlisting announcements
- For students outside India it will be conducted Online.
Prizes & Internship Opportunities:
Prizes and recognition will be awarded independently in each of the three domains: Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Drone Technology.
- Top 1 Team (per domain): Internship opportunities + ₹5,000Rs cash prize
- Top 2 Team (per domain): ₹2,000Rs cash prize
- Top 3 Team (per domain): ₹1,000Rs cash prize

Hackathon Timeline:

Idea Submission – 17th July to 8th August 2025
Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas based on the specific problem statements provided. Ideas must be original, well-structured, and aligned with the themes of the hackathon. -
Round 1: Idea Shortlisting – 8th August to 20th August 2025
A panel of experts will evaluate all submitted ideas based on innovation, feasibility, and relevance. Shortlisted teams will be selected to proceed to the next round. -
Round 2: Online Presentation – 21st August to 30th August 2025
Selected teams will pitch their ideas virtually to the jury. Judges will assess clarity, technical depth, and potential impact to determine the final-round participants. -
Announcement of Finalists – 4th September 2025
Teams selected for the grand finale will be officially announced on this date. -
Final Hackathon Event (Offline) – 6th & 7th October 2025
Finalist teams will take part in a 2-day offline hackathon to develop working prototypes. Prizes and recognition will be awarded to the most impactful and well-executed solutions. For students outside India it will be conducted Online.
