First of all, dear lj-friends, sorry for lack of commenting/updating lately. Life has been busy. I shall make a proper post sometime soon.

Secondly, I've been a bit obsessed with this movie, Bright Star, lately and therefore decided to picspam it. I really love it, I find it extremely beautiful, sort of poignant, tragic and moving. I've always had a fondness for Jane Campion's movies (The Piano being one of my all-time favorites). Ben Whishaw (who I have a bit of a crush on ;P) is great as always, and Abbie Cornish is too (her meltdown scene is really heart-breaking and convincing). Another thing to love about the movie is of course it's beautiful score, which really adds a certain feeling to the movie, especially in combination with Keats' poetry spoken by Whishaw. To sum it up, a beautiful movie, which I highly recommend. :)

Terrence Malick is one of my all-time favorite directors. He has only made four films (a fifth is on the way however), but I love all four of them. His style is very unique, his films mostly take place out in the nature (in really beautiful surroundings), and they're narrated by a usually distinctive voice. The films are devastatingly beautiful, every shot is pretty much perfection. Most of the time I just want to crawl into them and bathe in the beauty. (I'm such a wordsmith :P) The fact that he also wrote all films (although one of them are based on a novel) makes him even more impressive, because besides the visual beauty of the films, they also contain beautiful language, almost poetry, and the stories are told in interesting and innovative ways. I really cannot stress how much I recommend these films. If you haven't seen them, do it! :)
