Details
The DDM4 V9 AR15 style rifle is designed to satisfy the needs of modern shooters, not only in popular shooting sports, but also for tactical and defensive applications. The long, 15 inch picatinny quad rail over a 16 inch Cold Hammer Forged barrel gives the operator the option to have the support hand extended out close to the muzzle allowing them to drive the gun more precisely, and preventing over travel when transitioning between multiple targets. This combined with our mid-length gas system, which is known to have a smoother recoil impulse, allows for quick but precise rapid fire. The longer rail also affords the shooter plenty of real estate for optics and accessories and allows for maximum sight radius for accurate shooting with rail mounted iron sights. The independently ambi GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle accommodates left- and right-handed shooters. This rifle also comes with the ergonomic Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DDM4 V7 and DDM4 V9?
The easiest way to separate these two rifles is by rail style. The DDM4 V7 is the M-LOK option for shooters who want lighter weight and modern accessory attachment. The DDM4 V9 is the quad-rail option for shooters who prefer a classic full-rail setup. Both sit in the same broader Daniel Defense family, but the handguard feel and accessory strategy are different.
Is there a DD4 equivalent to the DDM4 V9?
There is not a perfect one-to-one match in name alone. The better comparison is to choose by feature set: if you want the DD4 family, look for the premium ambidextrous lower and updated rail system first, then compare barrel length and intended role against the DDM4 V9.
Which Daniel Defense suppressor works with a DDM4 V9?
Suppressor fit for DDM4 V9 depends on caliber rating, thread pitch, and mount compatibility.
The V9 will work great with both Soundguard 556 and Soundguard 6TI.
How does the California compliant maglock work on a DDM4 V9?
Daniel Defense's California-compliant configuration uses a mag-lock style setup. Because operation can differ from a standard rifle, buyers should follow the included instructions and confirm handling details with Daniel Defense or a qualified dealer before making modifications.
Can I swap the handguard on a DDM4 V9 for something shorter and lighter?
Rail swaps are fitment questions, not just style questions. Confirm length, mounting hardware, barrel-nut compatibility, and clearance before ordering a new handguard.
Does the DDM4 V9 have a threaded barrel?
Daniel Defense commonly uses standard muzzle thread patterns that make suppressor and muzzle device selection straightforward when you know the caliber.5.56 rifles commonly use 1/2x28 threads..300 Blackout and many 7.62-pattern setups commonly use 5/8x24 threads.Always verify the exact thread pitch on the product page or with Daniel Defense before ordering mounts or adapters.
Can I remove California compliant parts if I move to a free state?
Only make compliance-part changes after confirming the laws in your current state. If you are changing a California-compliant configuration, a qualified gunsmith and your local FFL are the right checkpoints before you publish or act on that guidance.
Do Daniel Defense California compliant rifles use a fixed-magazine system?
Daniel Defense's California-compliant configuration uses a mag-lock style setup. Because operation can differ from a standard rifle, buyers should follow the included instructions and confirm handling details with Daniel Defense or a qualified dealer before making modifications.
Do I need to open a California compliant rifle to seat a magazine?
Daniel Defense's California-compliant configuration uses a mag-lock style setup. Because operation can differ from a standard rifle, buyers should follow the included instructions and confirm handling details with Daniel Defense or a qualified dealer before making modifications.
Which Daniel Defense rifles are California compliant?
Daniel Defense currently offers California-compliant AR-15 options that include an AR Mag Lock and a 10-round magazine.
State restrictions can change, so the product page and the receiving FFL should be treated as the final compliance check before ordering.
Can Daniel Defense ship California compliant rifles to a California FFL?
State-compliance questions should always be handled conservatively because firearms laws and shipping policies change. Use the live product page, Daniel Defense FAQ, and the receiving FFL as the final authority before purchase.

- A great reliable and very accurate rifleThe DDMV9LW in Tornado cerakote was my first DD rifle. I currently own five DDs ( алсо an M4A1, a V7SLW, a V7 in MIL SPEC+ cerakote, and a V7Pro). No malfunction in four years. Not even once. All are very accurate. The only problem is they cost almost twice as much in Ukraine where I currently am).

- Quality 10/10I have owned many “high quality” ar15, however after picking this up and using it a couple of times, I’ve come to realize that none of my other rifles have the fit and finish that this DDM4V9 has. Fantastic job and looking forward to using more products from you guys!

- Yes!Can't say enough good things about this rifle. It checks all the boxes. I'm running it with an eotech 512 and a few other accessories that are just personal preferences (Fortis RED break, ambidextrous charging handle, and magpul MBUS pro backups)...there's not a better rifle out there in my opinion. Well done, DD!

- A SUPERB Rifle!!!I picked this rifle because the barrel is completely protected and covered by the picatinny rail giving plenty of space for your support hand with mounted accessories. This is a superb rifle! I own 3 DD firearms. If you're on the fence, the quality and SICK look of the V9 will not disappoint!
