Happy Thanksgiving/Columbus Day (Americans)

So it's nearly midnight, meaning nearly the end of Canadian Thanksgiving, which I'm going to call REAL Thanksgiving, because I'm patriotic like that. Also concerning the Columbus Day thing, why doesn't Canada get a John Cabot/Samuel de Champlain/Viking day? I want a frivolous excuse for a sale day.

Anyways, I hope that wherever you are, even if you're not celebrating Thanksgiving, you take the time out to think about how very blessed you are--after all, the fact you're able to read the dumb blog of a twenty-something Torontonian on Livejournal, probably means you've got a lot to be thankful for, let alone the fact I'm writing it makes me well aware of how much *I* have to be thankful for.

So here's a short list of some random things I'm thankful for. There's obviously tons more (more than I can count) but here's some random ones:

  • My family and friends (IRL, Online, past, present, and future)
  • Their health and safety...MY health and safety
  • The roof over my head
  • My education--despite my eternal bitching and moaning and the people I hate in my program
  • My mom's fruit salad
  • The internets
  • The people I get to talk to through the internets--some of whom are miles away, who I never would've been able to talk to otherwise.
  • Arashi's general existence, (Notably: Aiba's laugh, Matsujun's face, Ohno's voice, Nino's snark, and Sho's fail)
  • KAKA <3
  • Cristiano Ronaldo's right foot.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo's left foot. Pretty much all of RM's feet.
  • Iker's hands. His facebook.
  • Mourinho's tsundere-ness
  • Sufjan Stevens songs.
  • Death Cab for Cutie before Narrow Stairs
  • J.R.R Tolkein. Neil Gaiman. Pablo Neruda.
  • Late night conversations about nothing
  • People who are still there for me, even on days where I feel so fucking lost IDK what the hell I'm doing
  • The fact you're reading this now and find me interesting enough to even somewhat skim the list.

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!
I'm gonna post a better entry in a couple hours, but I just gotta mention something I think some of you guys will get, and others won't.

Johnny's Entertainment fandom is motherfuckin' nuts.

And I say that as someone who's a fan of a couple of their groups.

Shit has hit the fan, Thank the LAWD I'm pretty much in my own happy bubble with my fandom friends because the fan wars are getting into some crazy shit, wishing fucking DEATH upon groups and members and shit JFC. If I still followed the general JE comms or the cesspool that is Arama, IDEK.
QUESTION: Okay so there's this friend of mine I've worked with the past few weeks at my temp job, and he's nice and everything blah blah blah, but just as a friend. So my work period is ending tomorrow and he says that he's gonna miss me and asks for my phone number to text sometimes, and I'm just like "ok w/e".

So now my friends are convinced that he likes me and are trying to convince of such. And even though I think that asking for someone's number is normal or w/e, I'm kinda scared of what I should do if he does ask me out.

My friends are all, "Oh you're just so picky go out with him" which *I* think is really dumb because a) It'll lead him on when I know that this doesn't have a chance of going anywhere, b) Just because my friends are desperate to be with guys all the time doesn't mean *I* am, and the most important bit, c) I don't like him that way. I've had this ongoing problem where dudes I'm just friends with end up liking me, and I never know how to let them down gently while staying friends with them. It's so dumb.

So, Dear Abby, f-list, if he does ask me out, how do I say no, without coming off looking like a jerk or something?
