Voting is open at charlie_awards! Woo hoo! I've done my voting for all the art and the best all around, but the stories are going to take some time to read through. Gee, what a terrible burden. Getting to read Charlie stories. However will I suffer through it?

I hope you will all go give those lovely Charlie artists and writers all your love!

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure I know 90% of you here already, but I still wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I'll be your new cw_ldws Mod! Thank you myownmuggle for handing over the reigns of this community. *hugs you madly*

Clearly, we'll be associating with the charlieficathon since I run both sites and as we are currently in the middle of writing fics for our fest at the charlieficathon with stories to begin posting in mid-January, this community will be somewhat dormant until Spring.

We will have a second round of the Charlie Weasley Last Drabble Writer Standing in the Spring however, and I hope all of you will join up!

Hello everyone-

Recent real life issues have forced me to take a serious step back from life online. I had planned to start up another round here at Charlie Weasley ~ Last Drabble Writer Standing, but circumstances have interferred.

Rather than close the community or delete it entirely, I'd like to put it up for sale. I know that there are Charlie lovers out there who would excel at running this place. With the main community comes the staff community (for diabolical planning purposes), the Photobucket account and the gmail address.

If you're interested in taking on management of the community, please comment here or contact me by PM.

*insert drumroll here*

It's been a fantastic first round for the mods, and we hope you all have enjoyed it as much as we have. The drabbles have been great reading and ranged from the laugh out loud funny to heartbreaking.

The votes have been tallied, and the final results are in. We have a winner!

Congratulations to nolagal with her winning series, Glimpses of a Family.

Please also give a big round of applause to our runner-up, asnowyowl, for her delightful drabbles.

Banners for nolagal and asnowyowl are under the cut. In the coming days, we will be posting a poll and asking for your feedback, but until then, let the SQUEEING begin!

Closing his eyes to make a wish, Charlie realized that everything he'd ever wanted, he now had.Collapse )

On this journey through the life of Charlie Weasley, we’ve explored everything from unexpected friendships to wizarding headwear and even death. Each one of your drabbles has been a beginning of a sort. So for this, our last prompt in this round, we will go back to the very beginning. To our first prompt – and to our last.

Your challenge this week is this:

Rewrite each of the seven prompts. Your drabbles must be 100 words EXACTLY. No more, no less. You will end with a total of 700 words.

Prompt Seven
Prompt Six
Prompt Five
Prompt Four
Prompt Three
Prompt Two
Prompt One

Each drabble should be able to stand on its own, but they can relate to each other. They should be submitted, as usual, in an attachment to your email.

When submitting your drabbles, please use the following header for each one and save them in a single document:

Drabbles will be posted on Friday, April 10, for voting. Voting will close on Saturday, April 11 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Results and the winner of Round One will be announced on Sunday, April 12.

The last two contestants, nolagal and anoswyowl, will not be allowed to vote in this final round, since they can only vote for each other. In the event of a tie, we’ll get out the poking sticks, furry handcuffs, and assorted other torture devices.

After the announcement of the winner and ensuing celebrations, a poll will be posted and we’ll be soliciting your opinions on how to improve for Round Two, which is tentatively scheduled to run this summer. Your mods have already put their twisted heads together and come up with something deliciously evil, but we want to know what worked, what didn’t and what you’d like to see next time.

Good luck to our final two! All questions regarding this final prompt should be posted here.

Behind the cut are the entries for the sixth challenge of this round. Please for ONLY your favorite drabble in a comment to this entry with the number of the drabble and the title. Comments are screened.

Voting will be open until Saturday, April 4 at 11:59 PM EDT.

The challenge this week was to write a drabble of at least 250 words but no more than 500 words with a Spring theme – not necessarily the season itself, but the idea of cleaning out the old in preparation for the new. he joy that comes after grief has served its purpose. The drabble must make mention a sick or injured dragon.

This was your prompt:

As Spring approaches, the earth sheds the bonds of winter. Life begins to bloom again, and we celebrate the coming of the light.

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!

~Mark Twain

The earth began to shed winter like a dragon shed its scales. Life became bigger and brighter before Charlie realized what was happening.Collapse )
