The CBIC Annual Awards Gala is where innovation lives. Each spring, we gather to recognize the individuals and organizations driving Charlottesville’s technology and entrepreneurial future.
For 27 years, this celebration has honored achievements in entrepreneurship, commercialization, and breakthrough applications across private, public, and educational sectors.
As CBIC’s largest fundraiser, the Gala fuels our mission — enabling us to deliver programs, resources, and services that empower members and strengthen the region’s innovation‑driven business community.

The State of Tech in Charlottesville
"Since my first week in Charlottesville, CBIC has been instrumental in helping me launch and grow my startup: Cortado. I first met CBIC's Tracey Greene at their regular Tech on Tap event, where I had the opportunity to meet and learn from other local entrepreneurs and business owners. With Tracey's encouragement, I later presented Cortado to an audience at the monthly Entrepreneurs & Espresso event, and even landed our first local customer after the presentation. Moving from DC to C'ville, I couldn't have been more impressed with the local startup scene and caliber of small businesses launched in Central Virginia; many of them with direct support from CBIC!
