A vow

Often, we get attracted to someone and almost give in, until we realize that as Christians, we should stick to our vow of being faithful to our partners and exercise self-control and not give in to our passions.

I’ve gone through the motions

I bridle my emotions

My mind is in control

Though at times, it’s on a roll

I might be deceived in how I feel

The layers of my heart I peel

I find my true love deep inside

Pushing all distractions to the side

I focus on his gestures of love

To vain pleasures, my heart will not bow

This indeed is my solid vow!
