Pizza and Pasta Night at Picobello

IMG_20150704_185357 Picobello is one of the famous authentic Italian restaurants in Davao City. Several months ago, their only branch at Gaisano South Mall was closed. Fast forward to today, it now reopened at their new location in front if Monteritz Subdivision in Maa.

Just recently, I, my sisters and a friend visited their new location. This would be my first time to dine there by the way so any comparison and contrast that I will make here will be based on my sisters’ comments.

Once we arrived, it was full of people that we have to wait for a couple of minutes before they can accommodate us. Well this is typical for Picobello to be full. While we waited, we get to observe their place.

Before I proceed, I apologize in advance if I don’t have enough pictures of the place. The place is so crowded that its difficult to get a decent shot. Also, most of the photos that I took were dark as we dined at night.

The new place looked modern now as compared to their previous branch. They still have the open kitchen, however, instead of the wood-fired oven they used before, they now used commercial ovens. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor dining area which is separated by sliding doors. During our visit, the sliding doors were opened, creating a huge outdoor dining experience similar to an al fresco setting.

According to my sisters, the food is still the same. Though they expressed their concern of the restaurant using commercial ovens for the fear that it may change the taste of the pizzas. They also noticed, that the restaurant no longer has the buy one, take one promo.

Now for the food! We ordered their Calzone, Quattro Stagioni, and Rustica Quattro Formaggi. For pasta, we ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and Fetticcine Carbonara. I wanted to order their Risotto but I folded because I have to wait for another 45 minutes.

Their food is great! It’s one of the reasons why Picobello is famous here. If only they can bring back their buy one, take one promo, it will really be worth the money.

That will be all!

Is the Customer Always Right? (A Reaction)

As a homework in marketing class, we would have to make a reaction paper on the question, “Is the customer always right?”.  I would like to share my insights and reaction to this.

So here it is:

The use of the statement, “The customer is always right”, is a marketing strategy used by several companies to make their customers feel special and to provide them with better customer service.

At first glance, I can see why they used it. The marketing thrust today is for businesses to focus their attention to their customers’ wants and needs. Since companies want to bring more customers as much as possible, it’s up to them to provide products or services that the customer wants.

However, there’s a loophole in the statement. There are times that the customers demanded for more than what the company provides and will really rant and complain if the company will not provide it. Even though the company clearly define their products and service to their customers, people still do not understand and remain unreasonable. Lastly, there are people that are just plain wrong and claim that they are always right even though this is not true every time. In other words, some customers abused “the customer is always right”.

In my opinion, the customer is not always right given these circumstances. Some of them just keep on complaining on a company’s “poor service” and will remain to be unreasonable. These types of customers can be counterproductive to the company if they keep on dwelling them. In an article from huffingtonpost.com, the author states that, “some customers are just plain wrong, that businesses are better off without them, and that managers siding with unreasonable customers over employees is a very bad idea, that results in worse customer service”.

That’s my reaction to it. What are your reactions to this? Let me know in the comments!

See you later!

Possible Content

So I’m currently pondering on what content should I put into my blog. Initially, I wanted to be a personal one. I wanted to share my feelings and experiences to other people like you. However, I don’t want my blog to be purely personal. I wanted my blog to have a focus on something so that it will be somewhat consistent, though there will be times that I’ll blog about a different topic.

So much for that. Here are several topics that might include to my blog in the future:

Places and Travel

Downtown Singapore

Downtown Singapore

Why this? First of all, my relatives love to travel. They travel almost every year to different places around the world. This is where I got my passion for travelling. Being my curious self, I wanted to discover new things, I want to explore what the world has to offer, and I want to experience different cultures from different areas. Even though I traveled to different places already, there is still that drive in me to explore more areas because each travel offers a completely unique and different experience.

Possible travel content in this blog will mostly be from the Philippines, because I’m Filipino. This might be a good place to read if you want to discover what the Philippines has to offer to the entire globe. I might also input my travels overseas, but they are far too few as I only got to visit Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Food

Boodle fight!

Boodle fight!

Another thing that interests me is food. I love different kinds of food. That’s all I can say, probably. In addition, from the travels that I made, it made me appreciate food more. It tells so much of the culture that the food is associated from. Lastly, I might share what I’ve cooked. Please be easy on me as I’m a beginner when it comes to cooking.

Personal Insights

It will not be a personal blog without my insights and thoughts coming into the picture.

As I share these to you guys, I also want to have an interaction with you. I also learn new things by just reading your posts and reading your comments. We learn both ways, and I believe in that.

So that’s probably it. See you guys later!

About Me

Hello everybody! I’m Emer Anthony Operario. Just call me Anthony.

I have lots of interests. These include books, food, baking, travel, and games! There are so much more but I could not remember them all.

From the title of my blog, I am very open to new things, new ideas, and new perspectives. I want to know all the things that the world has to offer.

Why I Started to Blog?

First of all, I have to mention that I’m an introvert. This means that I’m shy and don’t mingle well with lots of people. I’m comfortable with the company of only a few people. Also, I’m more comfortable listening to others rather than starting a conversation. Furthermore, I want to hear everything first before I say anything.

I wanted to start this blog because I want to change my ways. I realized that I need to change myself so that I can improve my personality. I want to more open with other people. I want to meet new people. I want to gain confidence in myself. I want to improve on my writing. Furthermore, I want to improve on how I express myself. By starting a blog, I can do all those things. Also through blogging, I can achieve my curiosity to new things and new experiences.

Why Am I Doing This Again?

Actually this is not my first time to enter Blogging 101. This is my second time now. I failed to complete my first take in Blogging 101 because I was so busy with other things that I can’t catch up with the rest. So I have to take it again in the hopes of completing the course.

Possible Content

So far I haven’t decided on the content of this blog. However, I wanted to post anything that caught my interests like food and travelling. Also, you might see a part of my personal life. This might include personal events and my commitments.

Thanks for reading guys and I’ll see you later!

Hey There!

So far, I haven’t posted anything yet because I just started. So stay tuned guys!
For the content, I’m not sure on what specific content that I will be posting. For now, I’ll just post anything that I wanted to share.
That’s pretty much about it.
See you guys later!
