About
Real Business Support.
Real Community Building.
Creative Collective exists because not every business fits the traditional mold.
The vintage shop owner who works weekends. The digital artist without a storefront. The food truck entrepreneur. The nonprofit leader. The maker who sells online and at markets. The creative professional whose business doesn't look like a traditional business.
We built something for them — and for every business owner who wants support that sees them as a whole person, not just a business plan.
We're a 350+ member business support ecosystem based in Salem, Massachusetts, with satellite locations in Beverly and Lynn. We serve entrepreneurs, makers, small businesses, nonprofits, and creative professionals across Essex County — and we meet every member where they are.
What We Do
We deliver real business services through a community where members learn from each other. That combination — professional support plus peer-powered collaboration — is what makes this different from anything else on the North Shore.
Marketing That Actually Works
Our dedicated marketing team amplifies member stories daily across 125,000+ followers. You get continuous visibility — spotlights, features, cross-promotion — not a directory listing. Members get seen by the people who need to find them.
Business Consulting and Technical Assistance
From pricing strategies to website issues, from hiring to scaling — 350+ members are sharing real solutions to real challenges every day. You get consulting from people who've already solved the problems you're facing in this market, plus professional facilitation and one-on-one support when you need it.
Personal Advocacy at Every Level
We advocate for individual members as whole humans: navigating permits, supporting grant applications, facilitating partnership negotiations, connecting with resources, and advocating for policy changes when needed. We advocate for you — not your business category.
Community Connections
Our monthly Coffee with the Collective draws 60–80 people across Salem, Beverly, Peabody, and Lynn. Our virtual Members' Lounge provides real-time peer support between events. The connections happen organically because the format invites collaboration, not forced card exchanges.
Events and Market Production
Creative Collective produces events and marketplaces that transform public spaces into community destinations — and create real economic opportunity for local businesses.
Haunted Happenings Marketplace — Salem's premier curated marketplace featuring 60+ makers, artisans, and vendors during October. Over a million visitors pass through Salem during Haunted Happenings, and our marketplace puts local businesses directly in front of them.
Salem Arts Festival — Co-produced with Salem Main Streets. A multi-day celebration of visual arts, performance, and local creative businesses.
Love Letter Pop Up Market — A Valentine's season celebration of local makers and small businesses.
Pride Market — Celebrating LGBTQ+ owned and allied businesses across the North Shore.
Peabody International Festival — A community celebration of Peabody's cultural diversity through food, music, and local business.
Salem Holiday Happenings — Co-produced with Salem Main Streets. Holiday season programming that drives foot traffic to downtown businesses.
From concept to execution, every event we produce is designed to drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and strengthen community connections. If your municipality or organization is looking for event production that does all three, get in touch.
Consulting
We help municipalities, economic development organizations, and cultural institutions build thriving business ecosystems and vibrant community destinations. Our consulting covers placemaking, placekeeping, creative economy strategy, and business ecosystem design — grounded in 10+ years of doing this work ourselves, not just advising on it.

The Approach: We support the whole person, not just the business. Sustainable success requires thriving humans — and we're one of the few organizations that says that out loud and builds programming around it.

Who Belongs Here
Small businesses and entrepreneurs across Essex County — Salem, Beverly, Peabody, Lynn, and beyond. Makers, artisans, and vendors. Arts and cultural organizations. Downtown businesses. Service providers and consultants. Restaurants, retail, and hospitality. Creative professionals. Community-focused nonprofits.
The businesses that find us are usually the ones who felt like they didn't quite fit elsewhere. That's exactly who we built this for.
Recognition
We've been honored by the same organizations we're sometimes compared to — because we believe in building the ecosystem together:
Small Business of the Year — Salem Chamber of Commerce
Storyteller of the Year — North of Boston CVB
Community Engagement Award — Lynn Chamber of Commerce
We actively partner with the Beverly Chamber of Commerce, Salem Main Streets, the MA LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and dozens of municipal and cultural partners across the region. A healthy ecosystem needs multiple models — and we're building the table where everyone contributes.
