Values & Charity

Veganism

In 2022, we both went vegan for the animals. Our transition started with vegetarianism, replacing one type of meat at a time with plant-based options. Not only have we greatly reduced our carbon emissions, but we’re the healthiest we’ve ever been! We hope Coyotic Trouble can help inspire you to reduce your meat consumption and look for compassionate alternatives.

We also recommend watching Dominion for free on YouTube if you want to understand what goes into factory farmed meat (there is graphic content).

Environmentalism

Along with veganism, we try to be as eco-friendly as possible to help protect the animals and earth that we love. We search for recycled alternatives to materials like polyester and plastic, instead using organic cotton or RPET, or paper and algae ink.

We use EcoEnclose for our shipping materials and custom stickers, Custom Earth Promos for our lanyards, Sticker It for UK based stickers, and FakeFurShop for UK-based eco faux fur.

If you’re using Alibaba, we recommend talking with your supplier for RPET material for plush and clothing! We use this recycled polyester for all of our plush and clothing. We also use organic cotton or a 50/50 blend for softer and heavier clothing like jackets. Most suppliers can find you an eco-friendly alternative if you ask! You can also request an FSC certificate for authenticity.

If your merch comes with plastic, you can request merch to be shipped in one large bag instead of individual bags; you can also drop off plastic for bulk recycling at places like Walmart and Target.

For each kilogram of recycled polyester fabric produced, up to 62% less energy and 99% less water are used. Recycled polyester reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 20%. Organic cotton uses no toxic chemicals, cultivates good soil instead of damaging it, has less impact on the air, uses 88% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton.
Charities We Support: Clean Air Task Force; Food for Life Global; Rainforest Trust; Trees, Water & People; Acadia Center; American Prairie; Ecosia Tree Store

We donate a portion of our monthly proceeds to the charities above, and we use eco-friendly packaging from EcoEnclose for orders shipped from us!

Buddhism

Coyotic Trouble isn’t explicitly Buddhist, but many of our themes are! We want to reduce as much suffering in the world as possible, and use symbols and imagery that remind people of these Buddhist values, like impermanence and compassion.

If you’re interested in learning more about Buddhism, we recommend starting with the online Dhammapada. This book requires no previous knowledge, and you can scroll to any part of it without needing to read it all chronologically. Buddhism is only a finger pointing the way, and each person has their own journey. We hope we can inspire you in yours!
