LinkedIn Learning

To help you navigate the Digital Learning Hub, it is important to understand how content is organized on LinkedIn Learning. Each format serves a different purpose based on how deep you want to dive into a topic or how structured you need your learning experience to be.

Understanding the Formats:

  • A Course is a standalone unit of instruction focused on a specific skill or topic. These are ideal for immediate needs, such as learning a new software feature or mastering a specific professional concept in a short amount of time. Each course typically includes a series of short videos, exercise files, and a certificate of completion that you can display on your profile.
  • A Collection is an unordered grouping of courses and videos that relate to a common theme. You can think of a collection as a curated library or a personal "bookshelf" where relevant materials are gathered for easy access. Since there is no required order, you can jump between different courses within the collection based on your interests or current projects. It is a flexible way to explore a broad subject area without a strict timeline.
  • A Learning Path is a more robust and sequenced journey designed to move you toward a specific career goal or a comprehensive skill set. These paths are curated to ensure that you build foundational knowledge before moving on to advanced concepts. Because they are structured in a specific order and often represent many hours of content, completing a learning path demonstrates a deep commitment to mastering a complex professional role or discipline.

The resources provided through LinkedIn Learning are for personal enrichment, professional development, and supplemental skill building as part of your role as a student or staff member. Participation in these digital offerings provide valuable learning opportunities but does not constitute enrollment in a credit-earning program at College of the Rockies.
Please be advised that certificates of completion from LinkedIn Learning are not equivalent to academic credits, diplomas, or degrees granted by the college. These resources are separate from official COTR Academic and Continuing Education programs. Completion of any digital hub content will not be reflected on an official college transcript and does not meet the requirements for formal prerequisites of graduation credentials unless explicitly stated otherwise by your specific program.
