What Students Are Saying

Mike W

Favorite Type of Magic: Mentalism

“Just wrapped up Level 4 Magic classes at Cosmic Underground Theater with Kayla and Harrison. I’ve been with them since Level 1, and this has become the hobby I’ve loved more than any other. Their teaching style is clear, supportive, and fun, and the practice materials are top-notch. Kayla and Harrison create a space that’s welcoming and focused, with just the right mix of fun and challenge. If you’re even a little curious about learning magic, this is the place to do it. Grateful to be on this journey-and already looking forward to
the next level.”

Meet the Instructors

Laughter and fun at cosmic underground magic mind reading and comedy show in Chicago Logan square

Harrison Lampert and Kayla Drescher have been involved in magic for nearly 3 decades. They began formally teaching at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles about 10 years ago, where they were later invited to lead a comprehensive rewrite of the Castle’s curriculum for both in-person and virtual programs.

After relocating to Chicago, they were brought on to revitalize the magic program at Chicago Magic Lounge.

Now with their own venue and magic program, Kayla and Harrison are committed to creating a supportive, engaging learning environment. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop their unique performance style, and take risks in a space designed to feel safe and collaborative.

They understand that learning magic takes focus and practice—but they also believe the process should be enjoyable. Their classes are structured to make challenging techniques approachable, rewarding, and, above all, fun.
