[There is also a shoebox full of rock CD's which has been duct-taped shut and marked "GENKAKU. DON'T OPEN BADOU." Inside this box, tucked inside the Guns N' Roses CD, is another note and all the rest of his money, nearly 1,500 credits.]

Yoshimori has been in gargleblasted for more than a year. Things you should know about him:

Appearance: Yoshimori is constantly wearing a white bandage wrapping on his right hand, to hide the houin, a black square on his palm. This mark is proof that he is the legitimate successor to his clan. He has a habit of staring at his hand and flexing his fingers, wondering about why he was born with the houin, when his brother Masamori was, in pretty much everyone's opinion, clearly more talented and better suited for the job.

Now that he's about to turn sixteen, he's grown a few inches, and is now around 5'6" or 167 cm (his height is never given in the manga). His face is slightly less round in the cheeks. His hair is wild and more unkempt now that his dad isn't there to cut it or tell him to comb it, and he's starting to get whiskers. Thankfully Kurt and Kaoru are around to suggest grooming tips?

Kekkaishi Powers: Yoshimori has been training and drawing power from the various celestial beings he is friendly with on board. His skills with his shikigami have improved. He is able to control four incredibly realistic human shiki and some crows on the side all at once. His attack power has not improved too much since his point in canon (manga chapter 258), being as how Karasumori is not here to supply him with that energy. He still does not know who/what Karasumori is. He still does not know about what his "landlord" is. He still doesn't know his mother's whereabouts.

Baking Skills: Yoshimori has spent most of his time here on Thor baking and trying to learn more and more new techniques. His prized possessions are his baking supplies. A fallen angel named Crowley actually granted him a wish to have all of his cooking books and notes from his world again. Yoshimori has designed and built some very large cakes for parties. His permanent job is baker at Tres Leches Pan Dulce in the slums. He started off as assistant last year and worked his way up. Since the previous head baker quit, he's been the one making cakes and sweets there. His cakes are quite popular with the various organizations around the area even if no one really knows him by name yet.

The tallest cake he can make had seven tiers. He is learning how to make gum paste flowers that look real. He is also trying to perfect recipes that use raspberries and cranberries, two fruits he didn't have exposure to at home in Japan.

One Might Notice:

1. His serious mode, when it does peek out, differs greatly from his happy go lucky front he uses on Thor.

2. He is usually paying close attention to any children around. Yoshimori has demonstrated often in canon that he is great with kids.

3. Most likely due to his all-male family and estrangement from his mother, he also views girls as a strange foreign species, and finds them hard to understand and relate to.

4. He's rather hostile with anyone who bosses him around, it reminds him of his older brother.

5. His voice is cracking slightly less than when he first arrived.

6. He's a total chocoholic and doesn't care who mocks him for it. (In Japan, love of chocolate and sweets is considered to be a womanly trait).

7. He generally smells like whatever he's been baking. His favorite smells are coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and cardamom.

8. He's addicted to coffee. He likes it sweet or black, depending on his mood.

9. Due to the influence of the company he is keeping since his arrival, his language has gotten worse in certain situations. His father would be mortified.

Yoshimori is a kekkaishi, a "barrier master" who uses spiritual barriers created with his mind to trap ayakashi and exorcise them, sending them to the afterlife. Gods and demons can sense that he's got special powers. In his canon, many gods and spirits seem drawn to him for his interesting and friendly nature, as well as his pure heart. Rather than pure in a "holy" or angelic power in a Western religious sense, Yoshimori is neither black nor white, neither holy nor evil, and will feel to your character like a pure, innocent human. He is said in his canon to have the best qualities of what draw the gods to humans: unpredictability and creativity. This makes the god of Karasumori want to sympathize with him. He befriends the gods by helping them out with things they need and they help him in return.

If you have a character who is a god, demon, or angel; or someone with a spiritual power, you have permission to be able to tell that Yoshimori is different when you meet him in person. He probably seems to have something about him that's a little unusual or may remind them of something from long ago. Gods and demons can likely see his pure nature, as well as his power level (IT'S OVER 9000!). They may find themselves wanting to be around him.

One very powerful fox goddess is drawn to him when they get close. She touches his mind and is very interested to feel that he is a "destroyer," but she also senses that his power "could be used for much more." If you are able to get close enough to him to touch him or get psychically connected with him, you are able to see that he has the capacity to channel immense power, and the possibility that this power could be used to destroy or create chaos, or something else that you're not sure about-- this is why Karasumori likes him apparently. For this level of knowledge, please talk with me first.

Kushina - Naruto's MOM whoa what the!!?!! HOT. And she bakes! Lucky dog....
Naruto- This homeboy is a true bro and he is always interested in a bowl of ramen. Fine by me. Make sure he's got his wallet before you go though! Cuz he eats more than you could imagine.
Haruno Sakura - A nice girl. Knows Naruto and Sasuke. She said she loves me? Have not heard from her though...
Ran - A friendly kitsune youkai. Reminds me of someone sometimes...
Otae - She might marry Guy. She has some kind of fear of gorillas or bananas?
Youmu - A shy girl who makes plants and stuff. She's half ghost. How does that work I don't even.

Namine- Friends with Genkaku, Roxas, and Xion. Very mysterious and I don't know how much I can trust her. I got bad luck with the blondies. But Xion and Roxas vouched for her, and she showed up to help me carry Genkaku to the hospital. She seems empathetic.
Shuuichi who has pink hair- Ummm hello crazy. Why does he know so much about how to be a girl!!! But he has good taste in music and is real positive.
Xion - She said we were officially friends. It was really cute, too. Wants to make cake for her boyyyyyfriend whoo whoo.

Badou - He's pretty funny to talk to and joke around with, and he suggested a way for me to get a job. He likes spicy or savory things. He knows about my kekkai and stuff and hasn't run away from me. I worry about him a bit sometimes but try to keep it on the DL because I know he doesn't want that. He has more sympathy than Genkaku I think. But he definitely tries to keep his distance from everyone, so I'm trying to respect that even if I really, really want to be close with him.

My parting gift to him was not asking him to kill me if my musou failed. I know he wouldn't want to.**

Genkaku - Getting to be more funny when we talk and he's in the right mood. I've talked to him about serious stuff a lot. He's a good listener. I know he's a really violent serial killer, but. That don't mean that he's got nothing useful to do with his life. And it don't mean he couldn't change if he wanted to. I think he has a purpose... just because I don't believe what he does doesn't mean I can tell him what's what.

I also found out that he didn't want to die that night. Interesting. He knows about my shikigami, my kekkai and my white kekkai and hasn't rejected or tried to use me. I left him a note asking to put me out of my misery if my musou failed. At least he'd get a good feeling about doing it....**
