This is the story of “Frank.”
Frank’s faith was shaped by the abuse he experienced in his childhood. Sitting with Jesus or the Holy Spirit was never a problem, but the Father’s tender love and care were completely foreign to him, both physically and spiritually.
After more than fifteen years dedicated to following Christ, Frank had a moral failure in his conversations and emotions with a woman who was not his wife.
Frank lost his job and his position in leadership, and his marriage was in shambles, which brought him to his lowest point. And all options were on the table as far as how he might solve his problems. As he strove to rectify his mistakes, he depended on his friends, family, and neighbors to keep him afloat.
A friend introduced him to BEMA during this time as a way for Frank to hear a new perspective on his faith. Bit by bit, Frank picked up tools from the podcast as he learned about a Father who loves him and has a gentle heart toward him.
Frank has made it into Session 3 so far, and he is learning to experience the tender love of God the Father. He sees that he may not be through with the consequences of his life choices, but he knows he is not beyond the boundaries of God’s love and grace. He still has potential in the Kingdom of God, and he is reshaping his faith around a Father who holds him in a close embrace.
