Connection Keeper was originally a program for keeping a dial-up connection alive, and for closing popup windows.
Although it still does those things, it has pivoted to a program that monitors the proper functioning of websites, mail servers, DNS records, DNS blacklists, backlinks, redirects, and FTP servers.
Any problem is reported to an admin, along with diagnostic information.
