Common Projects

Common Projects started with a simple goal — build the perfect sneaker. Prathan Poopat and Flavio Girolami founded the brand in New York in 2004. The Achilles Low came first. It transformed what sneakers can be: no logos, no seasonal gimmicks, pure full-grain Italian leather on top of a flat Margom sole with a gold serial number on the sole. Twenty years later the shoe appears the same. So does the demand for it.

The entire brand of Common Projects sneakers, Chelsea, loafers, dress, and boots we have. Every pair on this site comes authenticated by serial number. Every product description is written from hands-on knowledge of the construction, the leather, and the fit. If you want to know what a pair feels like after six months of wear, read the product pages.

Common Projects Sneakers

The Common Projects Achilles Low is the shoe most buyers start with — and the one they keep coming back to. The Italian calf leather upper sits snug on first wear and shapes to the foot across the first week. After that, it holds the shape it received. Common Projects white sneakers in the Achilles Low work with everything in the wardrobe — jeans, chinos, linen, tailored trousers. Common Projects Achilles Low white leads the range in search volume and buyer demand for good reason.

Common Projects Achilles Low black covers the darker half of the year. The full tonal build — upper, sole, and laces all black — absorbs into autumn and winter outfits without fighting them. Common project sneakers in the Achilles Low family cover more occasions than any other shoe in the range. The Common Projects BBall Low adds more structure for buyers who want a panelled upper and rounded toe box alongside the Achilles in their rotation.

Why Buyers Choose Common Projects

  • Italian Leather That Lasts

Whole grain calf leather of Italian tanneries. Six months of use leaves the leather to the foot moulded, and the surface developing the character which no factory finish can reproduce.

  • Serial Number, Not a Logo

A gold-stamped number on the heel encodes the style, size, and colorway. No brand name shouts across the upper. The number does the work.

  • Margom Sole — Stitched In

Margom soles from Parabiago, Italy stitch directly into the leather upper. No glue. The sole stays attached through years of heavy use.

  • Built in Marche, Italy

Craftsmen in the Marche region hand-finish every pair. The construction detail shows on the inside of the shoe as much as the outside.

  • Same Silhouette Since 2004

The Achilles Low has not changed. No seasonal updates, no trend chasing. Buyers who bought a pair in 2010 and 2024 got the same shoe.

  • Full Leather Lining

No fabric lining on any panel inside any model. Full leather from heel to toe — the inside of the shoe matches the quality of the outside.

Common Projects Shoes & Boots

Common Projects Chelsea boots in suede are the first boot most Achilles Low owners add to their rotation. The crepe sole, elastic side panels, and pull-on entry make them the most practical boot in the range for daily wear. Olive, tan, black, navy, grey, and sand colorways cover every autumn and winter outfit. The leather and suede quality matches the sneaker line — same Italian construction, same Marche region factory.

Common project shoes beyond the sneaker range cover every formal and smart casual occasion. Common Projects dress shoes in derby and Oxford styles handle black-tie and office environments. Common Projects loafers in black leather cross between the office and the weekend without a style change. Common Projects boots in the full range — Chelsea, tall shaft, and combat — give buyers year-round coverage across every condition.

  • Common Projects Chelsea boots: suede, crepe sole, elastic panels, pull-on entry
  • Common Projects boots: Chelsea, tall shaft, combat and military editions
  • Common Projects dress shoes: derby and Oxford styles in black and tan leather
  • Common Projects loafers: penny strap, slip-on, full leather lining
  • Common Projects BBall Low: panelled upper, perforated toe cap, Italian leather
  • Common Projects Achilles Low: white, black, grey, suede, and colorway editions

Common Projects Men and Women

Common Projects men find the full range in EU 39 to EU 46. The Achilles Low runs long and narrow — buyers from Nike or Adidas go down one US size. A Nike US 10 buyer takes US 9 in Common Projects. Wide-footed buyers take true EU size. The Common projects BBall Low and Tournament Low fit roomier and take true EU size for most foot widths.

Common Projects women and Common Projects female buyers find the Achilles Low, Retro Low, Tournament Low, and suede editions in EU 36 to EU 42. White common Projects sneakers in the women's range cover blush pink, baby blue, cream, and teal alongside the standard white leather. The Italian construction and serial number authentication carry through every women's model the same way they do across the men's range.

  • Common Projects men: EU 39 to EU 46 across all models
  • Common Projects women: EU 36 to EU 42 across all models
  • Achilles Low:  go down one US size from Nike or Adidas
  • Chelsea boots:  go one full EU size down from sneaker size
  • BBall Low and Tournament Low: true EU size for all foot widths
  • No half sizes across any model in the range

Common Projects Sale

The Common Projects sale runs twice a year, January and June. January covers end-of-season Chelsea boots, dark leather sneakers, and autumn colorways. June covers Common Projects white sneakers, suede editions, and spring colorways. The discounts range up to 20-40% off retail on authentic authorized stock.

At Up to 20% off, two pairs of Common Projects Achilles Low white shoes are under the price of high-end options of other brands, such as Axel Arigato or Koio. The difference, the Italian leather on a genuine Common Projects Shoes pair molds to the foot, holds its shape, and lasts years longer than alternatives at that price. Buyers who pick up the Achilles Low at sale price get the same Italian construction at a price that makes the gap between the original and its alternatives disappear.

Common Projects alternatives for men under 200 work for buyers on a tight budget. But the leather grade, the Margom sole construction, and the long-term wear of a genuine pair sit above anything at that price point. The sale is the smartest entry point into the Common Projects range, and the one most serious buyers wait for.

FAQS

Are Common Projects sneakers worth the price?

The leather comes from Italian tanneries. The sole stitches directly into the upper, no glue. The shoe molds to the foot over time and holds that shape for years. Buyers who own a pair for two years get more wear out of it than three pairs of alternatives at the same combined price. The construction justifies the cost.

Do Common Projects sneakers run true to size?

The Achilles Low runs long and narrow. Buyers from Nike or Adidas go down one full US size. A Nike US 10 takes US 9 in Common Projects — that lands at EU 42. Wide-footed buyers take true EU size. Chelsea boots run one full EU size large — go one size down from your normal sneaker size. No half sizes exist across any model.

Where are Common Projects shoes made?

All of them are produced in a factory in Marche, Italy. Each shoe is crafted using the traditional construction techniques and is finished by hand of craftsmen. The Margom rubber sole is made at Parabiago, near Milan. The leather comes from Italian tanneries. No pair in the range uses synthetic materials or fabric lining on any surface.

When does the Common Projects sale happen?

January and June every year. January covers Chelsea boots, dark leather sneakers, and autumn colorways. June covers white sneakers, suede editions, and spring colorways. The Achilles Low in white and black sells out first in every sale window. Move on the first day the Common Projects sale opens — waiting costs you the size.
