I'm just going to say this real quick.
I don't care if it's just "a little thing". ANY usage of generative AI uses disproportionate amounts of resources and further refines generative AI models.
I don't care if what you're using it for is too boring or too difficult to do on your own. That AI stole from someone else to make a worse version of that, and if you put in literally any effort at all, I can assure you you could make a better version of whatever the AI creates.
I don't care if you've been using it for days, weeks, months, even years. If you stop right now, then I will commend you. Heck, I will even help you, because I understand that a lot of generative AI purposefully tries to foster a parasocial relationship with its users in order to make them use it more, and that is a genuine addiction-forming cycle that can lead to AI psychosis.
However, that said, if you hear all of this and then tell me "Yeah! I just use it for this, not all that other stuff." or if I tell you to stop and you vehemently refuse and get defensive about it? My opinion of you will drop significantly.
And I'm also going to attach this at the bottom: I don't want anyone saying anything along the lines of "I'm not reading all that", because AI is leading to a genuine literacy crisis and you SHOULD read this.
