part 1 of explaining the Morningblock collection lore because it’s the OC project im the worst about talking about

todag we’re talking about the setting.

this story is kind of like. a what if scenario where all the characters on a children’s television program are fully sentient but bound to follow the events of their pre-written storylines

however, the network that was hosting all of their shows unsuccessfully tries to expand their range of shows and eventually goes bankrupt sometime in the early 2010s.

even after it’s shutdown, all of these characters still exist in their world except they’re left without a purpose or a predetermined path to follow.

out of all these characters, the only one that’s fully aware that she isn’t ‘real’ is cellene, the host of a children’s gameshow akin to something like fetch with ruff ruffman on PBS kids.

shit happens and she eventually tries to start her own television program in universe to honor the legacy of the network executives that brought her to life. she invites a bunch of randos to help bring this idea to life and her studio is where the remainder of the story takes place.
