Here's a random fact: during the development of Nether Update Mojang considered removing beds' explosive attributes in other dimensions, but decided against it as that feature is considered iconic (not to mention many people use it to defeat Ender Dragon)

Considering what I said above, as well as the fact Creepers haven't been removed thanks to their iconic status, I came to conclusion modern Mojang really hates explosions in their game
