Chibi Maruko-chan is a beloved Japanese manga series by Momoko Sakura, based on her own childhood in the 1970s, following the everyday life of a 9-year-old girl named Maruko and her family. The series is known for its warm, humorous, and relatable stories about school, family, and friends, and has spawned two highly successful anime adaptations! I first discovered them thru Pinterest :O

A proposed Invader from The Sea itself attempting to destroy humanity and ultimately succuming to it? Ika Musume is pathetic with her poorly executed goal, she tries desperately to make "A Base of Operations", but she is instead hired by staff and works there for a living. She craves for crustaceans (Squids like crustaceans!) and is pretty funny.

I've seen plenty of funny or visually appealing animes, but few people (Or none) have seen a film like these. This film is a 2017 Japanese animated romantic comedy film directed by Masaaki Yuasa. The film is based on the 2006 novel The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl written by Tomihiko Morimi and illustrated by Yusuke Nakamura, who also served as the film's original character designer.
