Another dry spell of no blogging for months and another post with little co-relation to its title and now that end sems are almost here and I am as always the least prepared of the lot, I have decided to take up some blogging work. Though the title is ambiguous and I am hardly making any sense, I’d do what I am good at. Recount. Continue reading

The State of things!
Okay 2014 is almost half-over and there is so much left to achieve. Haven’t blogged in a while and this trend stays true for all of my blogging history. I am completed with my sophomore year and time has flown by so quickly. Nevertheless, I have few things to tell. One, I qualified for the Google Code Jam:), but couldn’t quite make it past the later rounds(past the best<1000 programmers worldwide ). Hope next time it is going to be better. Two, I have a decent ranking now on Codechef. I hope to get under thousand global rank till the vacations get over and make a mark at other competitive programming sites as well. Three, I haven’t been able to travel a lot lately. I am dying for a roadtrip. Maybe one to Jodhpur will set the deal for me.
Lastly, I have been watching a few Japanese anime movies and I must say they are so totally worth it. *Nostalgia*( this, this and this)
Things are still in a disarray and something seems to eating me up, but I cannot still figure out what is bothering me? . I want to write more but I’d leave it untold here. Hope to get everything fixed. BTW listening to Coldplay’s newly released album. This might be the 5th time on trot . Maybe I am trying to derive some happiness. Feeling pretty cold on a very hot day. *Sigh*
The Carnival is over!
So Technika’14 comes to an mesmerizing end with Underground Authority performing on the final day. Although TLDR, Technika turned out to be a lowly affair for me, in terms of winning events but I still managed to have a lion’s share of fun. Partied, Danced and Hacked.
First up, the prelims were such a set-off, you name any event. People googling answers is such a disgrace, man. Couldn’t even defend my title of B-Quiz in the finals, darn it because it was astonishing to not see myself qualify. It was only a week before I(we) won a similar quiz at IIT-Patna. What was more maddening (and really disappointing) was the fact that we(my team) couldn’t even qualify for the finals of Debugging C. Can’t even digest it now. I mean how in the world did it happen? I can go on mentioning the other technical events but they weren’t as important. However, we did manage to sneak in some winning spots, Geek Skills and App-Design.
Coming to the most important event(personally) of Technika, “Codage”. The prelims had some basic aptitude problems and we did make into the finals 🙂 The finals had 5 programming questions to be solved which were relatively easy. We still panicked and ended up doing only two questions with two of ours other solutions getting TLE’d .Our score was tied with the top teams with a score of 2 but we had missed by the top spot due to these time penalties. Man I so wanted to win that event.
Anyway things do not always work out the way you want them to.
So the carnival is finally over! and this was the end of the line for me in Technika’14 which was overall an overwhelming experience. Cheerio (:
‘Tis The Season of Carnival
With Spring on its way, the Valentines Week has already begun although it hardly matters to me, member of ‘Forever Alone Community’ :P. Jokes apart, this is still the best time of the year. Technika ’14 is just two days away, the annual techno-management festival of our college and I’m hell sure this is going to be such a carnival and this pre-technika time is truly awe-inspiring. Maybe because this is the time of the year when some real “Engineering” is at display. You can overhear people discussing strategies for contests, converting their rooms into “kind of” mechanical workshops to give a final finish to their bots, sacrificing sleep to complete an unfinished script/ electrical circuit and to top it , it is all done with such enthusiasm which is beyond comparison. I’m so sold for the very idea of techfests. So Technika 2014 is here and I hope to sneak in wins in a few events, at least. <Self-Brag>Just to put it on record here, won the B-Quiz at Anwesha 2014 @IIT Patna. If someone was to sum up my life, he’d easily account half of my life’s achievements were winning all those quizzes. *Humility isn’t for me* </Self-Brag>
And before I close up on this post, because there is a special dinner scheduled in the mess and I hope to have a good meal today :{} , I’d love to let you know we won the prestigious BITP football league (which we had so nearly lost last year). Why is this so special? Maybe because all the star players are in their fourth year and I’m highly unsure we’ll ever see ourselves winning again. Though I can carry on expanding on this post, I’d prefer going to the mess now. Famished, you see!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year. It is turning into more of a habit to update this blog on ceremonious occasions. Unlike the popular culture I won’t start recounting the last year or start bragging about my new year resolutions. The concept of Gains and Losses is too gross for me. Anyways the month long holidays is coming to an end and Gosh! I don’t wanna get back. PleaseOPlease. Lying at home all day being totally jobless is such a good way to live life. Now I will go have some sleep and possibly write some code. And yeah, no new year resolutions for me.
May this year bring happiness, peace and prosperity to all! Cheerio 🙂
