About the hackathon:
Code for Change is a competitive hackathon organized by Amdad-o-Agahi, dedicated to using the power of technology for social change. Our mission is to bring together passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds to tackle pressing societal issues through innovative solutions. Whether you're an experienced programmer or don't know coding, you have a place in our hackathon and an equal chance to win.
Participants in Code for Change are encouraged to focus their efforts on one of three key areas: making education and learning more accessible, improving healthcare through tech, or addressing any other societal issue that can benefit from a technological solution. We believe that technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach these challenges, and we welcome fresh ideas and creative solutions. Instead of just telling colleges you are interested in using technology for social good, you can show this interest by winning our hackathon.
We firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their skill level, can contribute to creating positive change. You can be an experienced, veteran software engineer and still not win. We are more interested in the creativity of your solution, as we value innovative and creative thinking. If you don't know how to code, there's no need to worry; you can still be an essential part of our hackathon. We encourage collaboration and teamwork, so participants with various skills, such as design, project management, or even a deep understanding of the issues at hand are recommended to work together in teams, but you can still work alone if you wish.

Requirements
What to Build:
Participants are required to make prototypes which address any problem that falls within any of these three categories:
-Making education accessible
-Improving healthcare with tech
-Any other societal/environmental issue that can be addressed using technology
These prototypes can either be made using a programming language, or a graphic design software like Axure or Figma, which allow the user to make prototypes without knowing coding.
MAX TEAM SIZE: 5 PEOPLE
What to submit:
Participants will submit a YouTube video that showcases their projects to the judges. This video will have the following structure:
-An Introduction to the Problem
- Start the video with a clear and engaging introduction that presents the problem you are addressing.
- Provide context and explain the significance of the problem to the viewer.
-Prototype Showcase
- Demonstrate your prototype in action, showcasing all of its features to improve your chances of winning.
- Use the video to visually and verbally explain how your prototype works.
- Presentation showing how your project can be implemented practically:
- Incorporate technical knowledge into your video to demonstrate your expertise
- Suggest how your prototype can be implemented in real life using computer science knowledge with the help of a presentation e.g using machine learning
- Ensure your presentation is clear, concise, and easy for the judges to understand.
- Use visual aids, graphics, or diagrams to enhance your explanation.
- Keep the viewer engaged by maintaining a conversational and enthusiastic tone.
- Address potential questions or concerns that your viewers might have.
- The video can be no longer than 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, we can not guarantee that the judges will watch the rest of the video.
- GitHub Repository for Entries using code:
- If you have developed the prototype with code, you may provide a link to your GitHub repository.
-The video pitch is still necessary, but the GitHub repository allows for us to take a deeper dive into the technical aspects of your project.
If you have any questions relating to this, feel free to ask in the Discord server.
