Arcadia Cold Storage

Clayco and LJC were the design-build team awarded with this 294,000-square-foot cold storage building for Saxum Development.

The building will house Arcadia Cold which specializes in providing third-party handling, storage, distribution, and value-added services to the food industry. 

The facility will contain approximately 38,000 pallet positions and is insulated by metal panels with a Transcritical Co2 refrigeration system. This Joliet facility, along with the company’s location in Crown Point, Indiana, will work together to provide enhanced services for regional production facilities and fast-moving consumer packaged goods programs, ensuring customers have access to high quality cold storage options across the region. The company estimates it will bring 75 to 100 new jobs to the area. 

Clayco broke ground on this project in Q4 of 2024 and it is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026.
