The first phase of the Hollywood Park Studios project will cover 12 acres, including five 18,000-square-foot sound stages. Two of those will be able to open into a single 36,000-square-foot space. Additionally, there will be a three-story, 80,000-square-foot office building and a parking structure that can accommodate more than 1,000 cars. The parking structure will also include a 20-foot-high bay on its ground level for up to 60 movie production trailers.
This project will initially serve as the host site of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28), which will house hundreds of media rights holders from around the world who have acquired the exclusive rights to distribute the coverage of the Games. The IBC will offer broadcasters ample space for offices, studios and control rooms, as well as other services, as they work around the clock to deliver seamless broadcast and digital coverage to the world when this historic event comes to Los Angeles. Following the Games in 2028, HPS will be available for use for studio production and operations.
The Hollywood Park campus provides for additional phased development of up to 20 build-to-suit stages and an additional 200,000 square feet of related office space with additional structured parking. The first phase and future development will be connected to the campus-wide fiber ring and power centers, delivering the highest level of service to ensure technology scaling, including current and future AI applications.
Global Architecture and Design Firm Gensler spearheaded the design for HPS, Clayco will serve as the general contractor, and Pacific Edge as project manager, with financing arranged by Guggenheim Investments. Construction will begin later this month.
