About the Challenge
Citrus Hack is a 24 hour hackathon hosted by the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Hackers are challenged to create a project on the spot and demo it to compete for prizes. Our goal is to provide learning and networking opportunities for our community of hackers by facilitating a hackathon packed with workshops, activities, and mentorship. We hope Citrus Hack helps you bring your code to life and light up the big screen!

Get Started
1. Form a Team: Teams can have 1 to 4 members.
2. Plan Your Project: This year, we have 7 tracks - 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Most Cinematic, Best Hardware, Best UI/UX, and Most Sustainable. You and your team are free to build your project around these tracks, but we highly encourage having it be planned around this year’s theme - cinema!
3. Build: Start coding once hacking kicks off on April 19 at 1:00 PM! All projects must be started and completed during the 24 hour period.
4. Use GitHub: Your code must be hosted on GitHub. Ensure that all commits are time stamped during the hackathon window to qualify for judging and to be considered for our tracks.
5. Submit Your Project: Turn in your project through Devpost by the deadline. Don’t forget to include:
- A GitHub link to your code
- A short description of what your project does
- A live demo link (if available)
6. Judging: Majority of your team must be present to pitch your project to judges on April 20 at 1:00 PM. Be ready to present your project and answer questions from judges!
