I feel all: lethargic

If LJ sent me an email about a community being deleted if I didn't updated it, I updated it, then today I get a thing about it being deleted (yeah, that was nice to do anyhow) unless I go to Account Status select the comm and change it from deleted to active within 30 days . . . except there's no drop down on that journal, just the main journal, what should I do?

(Then I can't even set up the notification for when they purge it b/c it says no journal was selected . . . yays)

Did anyone watch The Finder last week?

I'm not sure how much I like it now. I was maybe the only person (besides my mother) who liked Saffron Burrows on there and now she's gone . . . I feel like they're trying to make him too much of the 'he's very logical and doesn't care about people's feelings, those are silly' characters. Kind of a cross of Bones and House.

I get that we have scores of characters that are the opposite and, obviously, care about people a lot but . . . When they've mentioned House in regards to him and he's on a spin-off of Bones.

I guess it just seems a lot different than the Finder Bones ep. (And it seems like it takes a lot to get me to watch TV shows anymore - I hardly manage to watch the ones I love anymore [I'm super behind on Chuck and Parenthood and Ringer and behind on HIMYM. I think I watch Hart of Dixie and Supernatural . . . and Bones.])



Also, semi-related to TV, here's a To Kill a Mockingbird Blu Ray contest . . . I just saw this (well the DVD since, I guess the Blu Ray isn't out yet) at the library . . . I love that movie. I hope they give some more classic movies the whole Blu Ray treatment! (Part of that might be all the photo classes I took and my love of black and white pictures.)

What's a really good movie to see?

Here are the ones I've seen lately:

Source Code which I liked a lot more than I expected to like it. And not only because of the Chicago-ness. It has a lot more plot to it than I ever thought - and plot that I thought was good. 

Stone which I liked a lot less than I thought I would. I heard a whole lot of good things about this when it was in theatres, forgot about it (it never played here), then saw it for sale and decided to rent it . . . and didn't like it that much.

Atlas Shrugged: Part One because of the giveaway here I thought I would see this when the library had it. Colbert talked about it a while ago and I wondered about it - but didn't feel trying to read the giant book again (I read part of it a few years ago). I didn't like the content, but I did like the production and the actors (didn't recognize many of them) did a good job. 

Morning Glory watching that right now . . . it's cute. I really like Rachel McAdams even if I constantly confuse whether it's her or Amy Adams in a movie ;-) This movie has some really good actors in it and they're doing a good job. It's not a serious movie, of course, but it's a great amount of fun to watch not serious movies sometimes.

I also go Toy Story 3 and Remember Me but then I remembered I'd already seen Toy Story 3 a while ago and I don't think I'll have time to watch Remember Me . . . .


Anyone see any of the movies in theatres over Thanksgiving? Maybe My Week With Marilyn or Hugo? Maybe The Muppets?

Or maybe you rented some movies? I'm looking for some suggestions - or any warnings of what not to see works, too!

Anyone know how to fix dizzy? Because I am - dizzy I mean and it's getting very annoying.


ALso annoying? My phone deleted my LJ app thingy (my phone had/has some problems) so I couldn't updated when I wanted to :(



Back to the important thing, though, if you know how to get rid of dizziness, please do share.

Anyone know your state or city (or any sates/city's) travel slogan/motto? You know, the thing they
use on commercials trying to get people to visit there?

I had Buffy DVDs at my dad's ... so I didn't watch *all* of them for a long time. Tried in January & some wouldn't play.

I thought it was his player but now they won't onstage here either.

Waaaayy too late to take them back now. I'm sad.

Has anyone seen Daydream Nation with Cat Dennings and Josh Lucas? I saw the trailer on imdb (and thought it came out last year) and apparently it's just out on DVD/bluray today . .. the trailer makes it looks interesting :)

So, reading over a fanfic I never (at least yet) finished lead me to a rather shocking conclusion: my writing does. not. suck.

I really need to get back to writing more often so that I can be sure it didn't start sucking and so that I can either finish my fanfics and/or some of the original things I started and maybe actually do something with them.

Do not try to build a website on a host that does not allow 'embed image code' D:

*hoping my hosted website is still there even though I haven't updated in forever because I really want to start doing fandom-y stuff again*


Oooh, means I need to transfer Core for my FTP stuff to this computer and remember how to do all that again.

I do realise that first bit is big but this is a big thing for me so the big text seems appropriate :)

since either I can't figure it out easily or it's not possible to retweet things from the Twitter site/timeline (Twitter.com) while adding a comment .... ie saying: blah blah RT @someone ....' instead of just RT @someone...' Is there a good Twitter client to download? What about one that works on Android phones, too?


and I'm still curious about a good LJ client for my phone....I had one but if I stay logged in, it doesn't let me select a userpic. If I log out and then back in for each post, then I can pick a userpic but that's annoying :P

What's a good comm or journal for SPN or DW (10th Doctor) or VM wallpapers? I have a new computer and haven't moved my files or gotten Photoshop on it yet . . .

in terms of laptops: What's your opinion of HP vs Acer vs Sony I have too many, strong anti-Toshiba and Dell feelings to buy them this time)? And what about AMD vs Intel?

I love my AMD having HP but since I got it back in '06 it's finally acting a little old ;)


oh, and I want something that plays blurays (and I've already been told that it's pointless to watch bluray's on such a small screen but it's not su much that as being able to watch movies when I go out of town and not buying things on DVD over BR b/c of the computer ...)

It's slightly hard to convince your dog not to bark at the rooster you can hear from your back yard when you have no idea why said rooster lives on said residential vicinity. It's also hard to do a lot of other tho GA with a sprained (at least) wrist and ouchie hand.

anyone know how to make my CD drive reliable again? To be fair my computer is four years old but the rest of it works just about perfectly but it's decided to read a CD for about five seconds and then forget it's there and then a minute later ask me if I want to play/import the CD? grrr arggh

Some teen girl's mom here (or in this area) kept four Gossip Girl books out of the public library for a year in protest (and got an $85 fine that she's not paying so far)... (and I know that's a ill phrased sentence.)

She doesn't like the 'Costco sized box of condoms' mentioned and the sex and drugs. She wanted a label put on the books before she'd agree to return them. The library disagreed, though and said that would be a matter of opinion--they did move them to the adult section, though (which isn't giving in b/c anyone can still check them out....).

I can get not liking the content of Gossip Girl books--and some other YA books, easily. There's tons of sex and drugs and drinking and whatever in a lot of books, but a) this was a year ago so it was, I think, after that whole 'WTF' Gossip Girl ad craziness...opps, that was August</stike> after Gossip Girl was already on for a while so everyone knew GG was not tame, b) either monitor all your kids books or respect that she's probably old enough to not go find a huge box of condoms and sleep with someone just because a book mentions it, and c) maybe be glad that book is at least mentioning condoms and not glossing over that part of sex?


(And this was not actually our library system, but since it was really, really near by, I feel the need to mention we do have in our system--which is missing a lot--about all the GG books and the show DVDs, too.)
