PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: December 19, 2025
1. Introduction
We value your privacy. This policy explains how Chrono Capzle collects, protects, and—most importantly—deletes your data.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Data: Email address, username, password (hashed), and payment history.
- Capsule Content: The photos, videos, audio, and text you upload.
- Log Data: IP addresses and browser types for security and analytics.
3. Security & The “Zero-Peek” Protocol
A. How We Protect Your Data We utilize a defense-in-depth strategy to protect your sealed memories:
- Filename Obfuscation: Upon upload, all files are automatically renamed to cryptographically random strings to prevent guessing.
- Directory Protection: Public access to storage directories is blocked to prevent browsing.
- Redundancy: Data is stored on self-hosted servers utilizing redundancy to help prevent data loss.
B. Administrator Access (“Zero-Peek” vs. Safety) Our internal policy is a strict “Zero-Peek” standard. We do not proactively view or monitor user content for leisure or marketing. However, to maintain the safety of the platform, you acknowledge that:
- Automated Scanning: We utilize automated scanning technologies (AI and hash matching) to detect illegal file signatures (such as CSAM) and malware.
- Right to Inspect: We reserve the right to manually inspect specific sealed data if it is flagged by our automated systems, compelled by a valid court order, or to investigate credible reports of severe abuse (e.g., terrorism, harassment, or illegal content).
4. Sensitive Data Exclusion
Chrono Capzle is not designed for Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (SPII). You are strictly advised NOT to upload:
- Social Security Numbers or Government IDs.
- Credit/Debit Card numbers or financial account numbers.
- Health/Medical records.
- Passwords or private security keys.
If you choose to upload such data, you do so entirely at your own risk.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Policy
A. The Sealed Phase Your content is retained securely until your chosen Release Date.
B. The 72-Hour Window Once the Release Date is reached, the content is accessible to you and your recipients for 72 hours.
C. Permanent Deletion After the 72-hour window expires, the data is permanently deleted from our live production environment.
- Backup Latency: Please note that while data is wiped from the live site immediately, it may remain in our secure, isolated server backups for a short cycle before being overwritten. These backups are inaccessible to the public and used solely for disaster recovery.
6. Cookies
We use cookies to maintain your login session and preferences. We do not use cookies to track your activity across other websites.
7. Third-Party Providers
We use trusted third-party services for specific functions:
- Payments: Secure payment processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal) handle financial transactions. We do not store your full credit card information.
- Email: Transactional email services are used to send your Capzle notifications.
