These
Web Design Guidelines come from Aptivate, a group at Cambridge working on ICT4D (ICT for Development). Good for users in any country, but especially important for those with low bandwidth connections. (Some sites are so heavy, it makes you wonder if the web designers considered that anyone might access the site from outside their own region.)
The Aptivate people had a look at
Appropedia and gave a worrying report: the CSS and Javascript are heavy, and will make it slow for a visitor with a slow connection. So - now to do some research on their site about how to order and trim these for better loading speed. This is all new to me - any feedback welcome!
