ChordBud 2 AUv3 MIDI Sequencer 2.9

ChordBud 2 is a MIDI chord sequencer that enables quick creation of unique chord progressions. The software boasts a robust music theory engine supporting over 40 scales. Users have the flexibility to choose scales and view them vertically on one screen, with chords displayed horizontally. This allows for easy comparison of scales and the borrowing of chords through modal interchange.

By default, ChordBud 2 displays all chords within a selected scale, which can be changed at any time. Additionally, users can select specific chord progressions within the settings menu, providing a focused approach to chord selection. The software supports multiple patterns, allowing users to work with different keys, scales, and progressions per pattern. Patterns can be managed through functions like copy, paste, delete, and triggerable MIDI CC messages.

The flexibility of ChordBud 2 goes beyond traditional triad chords, offering chord modifications such as add-ons, suspensions, and extensions like 6th, 7th, 9th, 11th, and 13th chords. The software's chord editor allows for real-time adjustments to parameters like mode, velocity, octave, inversion, key, and division while the sequencer is in operation.

In the timeline view, users can easily rearrange chords by moving their position or adjusting duration by dragging from the edge. Zoom functionalities enable precise positioning of chords within subdivisions for detailed editing.

ChordBud 2 provides its core components for free on GitHub, allowing developers to utilize them in creating their music applications. The application's MIDI layer is supported by the open-source AudioKit framework.

Note: ChordBud 2 operates as a MIDI sequencer application and does not generate sound independently. Users need to route ChordBud 2's MIDI Out to a compatible audio application's MIDI In and arm the sequencer to produce sound.
